Once again we are proud to introduce a brand new name here at OFF SPIN, and this time is for an absolute debut...and a big one it is! Fat Sushi are here with two dancefloor oriented tracks that will sure be the start of a promising path to stardom.

For "My Place" they bring no other than Roland Clark to the mic, a voice that anyone with a minimum love for house music would instantly recognize...He works his speech magic over classic jacking beats and an intense synthline that blends in perfectly with the vocal...Of course the bassline completes the infectious groove for the dancers bliss. This track has been causing mayhem every time its dropped.

Second comes "Preaching Right Tonight" and its another chicago influenced jam, with quirky beats, sweet rhodes and a powerful synth bass all swinging in harmony behind the vocal speech that keeps the intensity high and the bodies moving.

To wrap up this very special release, we bring Purple Disco Machine, already OFF family members with several recent hits under their belt who version "My Place" introducing percussive drums and their always effective disco funk vibe to the already powerful synths and vocals.

All tested in the best dancefloors in the world, this tracks are now ready to come into your bag!

The Story:
We've worked on this track during summer 2013 and thought, a release in early 2014 would fit perfectly to our schedule. But apparently, Tube&Berger were faster with the same idea: to use the theme of Strafe's 'Set It Off' Track from 1984.

The Desicion:
Even though we took a rather different approach then mighty Tube&Berger did - we thought it would be quite lame to release it too now. Especially after their version made it on No.1 on Beatport. 
We decided to include our version in our OFF Recordings Podcast to see if people liked it anyway - and after all the great feedback, we decided to give it away for free to our fans - we hope you'll enjoy it!

The next release on Light my Fire comes courtesy of Zurich’s Fat Sushi, who recently impressed with their ‘My Place’ EP on Off Recordings. On ‘Hypnotic’ the duo presents three resourceful club tracks consisting of elastic bass lines, epic breaks and a good pinch of humour to keep it fresh.

‘Problems’ is crafted for the peak time: areal synths chase over a plump bed of bass, elevated by a looped guitar riff and sweet vocal hooks. Next, ‘Hypnotic’ sways through the night, lighting up the dance floor with feel-good vibes. Stefan Mint, who has previously release on Groove On, takes the track’s title quite literal and delivers a hypnotic tech house remix made for the wee hours. Great stuff! Lastly, we are treated to a healthy portion of 80s power, as ‘What You Need’ combines retro synths with modern house sounds.

Dieses Hämmern scheint nicht mehr aufhören zu wollen. Ein dumpfer Rhythmus der sich durch die Synapsen meines Hirns stampft. Es scheint fast so als würde sich die Kick-drum aus den Boxen in mein Bewusstsein gefressen haben. Mit den einzelnen Schlägen blitzen Erinnerungsfetzen wie Bilder unter einem Stroboskoplicht auf. Zuckende Körperteile, Gesichter voller Emotionen, hohe Boxentürme und bunte Lichter bahnen sich unkontrolliert ihren Weg in meinen Verstand. Die Nacht scheint sich selbst zu reflektieren und ich kann mich nicht dagegen wehren. Zum pochenden Kopfschmerz mischt sich bald ein großes Verlangen nach Wasser. Dieser Durst, es scheint als würde die Kalahari in meine Kehle umgezogen sein. Ich versuche die Augen aufzuschlagen und kann sie nicht lang offen halten. Es dauert eine Weile bis sich das verschwommene Zwinkern in einen klaren Blick verwandelt. Arme und Beine wollen jedoch gar nicht meinem Willen gehorchen. Wie gelähmt liege ich im Bett und starre an die Decke. Dann beginne ich zu grinsen und denke mir, dass ich mal wieder alles gegeben habe. Es wird bestimmt bald Zeit für eine paar neue Tanzsneaker. 
Der alte Teufelskerl hat es mal wieder geschafft. Es haben wieder alle nach seiner Pfeife getanzt, im wahrsten Sinne des Wortes. Der Raverend ist wahrlich einer der größten Entertainer aller Zeiten. Er hat das Publikum wie von Zauberhand geleitet und mit einem magischen Band verbunden, sodass aus den Individuen ein gleichsam eskalierendes Kollektiv geworden ist. Der Geist dieses schwitzenden und glücklichen Wesens hat jeden einzelnen immer weiter angetrieben. Dieser Dj versteht es einfach auch noch die letzten Energiereserven aus den müden Körpern zu kitzeln. So liege ich also völlig erschöpft aber von Glücksgefühlen durchströmt da, während mein Geist schon wieder beginnt nach mehr zu verlangen. Er benötigt die Leidenschaft, die Emotionen und die Geschichten, die sich hinter den elektronischen Klängen verbergen. Zum Glück gibt es mittlerweile Smartphones mit Sprachsteuerung… „Hey Handy, spiel die aktuelle deep story!“ „Ich spiele deep story nr. 111 the awakening by Fat Sushi“ 

Die beiden Jungs haben spätestens mit ihren Release auf Suara bewiesen, dass sie großartige Tracks zaubern können. Ihre Produktionen sind abwechslungsreich und absolut tanzbar. Wenn bei diesen Grooves die müden Glieder nicht wieder anfangen zu wippen, hilft auch kein Aspirin mehr...

Swiss duo Fat Sushi is currently making its trademark on the underground clubland by releasing tracks and remixes on some of the most respected labels in the game: Suara, Einmusika, Katermukke, Steyoyoke or Hive Audio to name a few. Being in the industry for almost two decades before the peculiarly named pairing decided to join forces in 2013, you can hear the inspiration of various musical styles in their productions: heavy basslines, uplifting melodies and carefully chosen vocals – from deep house to techno spectrum.

With gigs all over Europe and the US, the past few months have been pretty hectic for the Zurich based guys. But there’s no sign of the cold fat fish slowing down: while constantly hitting the Beatport charts with original productions and remixes for the likes of Fritz Kalkbrenner or Henry Saiz, the guys are also curating their own Fat Wax imprint. Talking about ‘Fat Wax’: being praised by Dancing Astronaut as ‘one of the underground’s most exciting new imprints', the label already showcases an impressive list of artists involved: From Chicago House legend DJ Pierre to balearic vibes from Kyodai to Berlin influences by Marquis Hawkes or UK’s John Monkman.

No surprise, Fat Sushi’s productions get played by the current keyplayers of the Techno & Tech House scene such as Marco Carola, Nicole Moudaber, Maya Jane Coles, Oliver Koletzki, Andhim, Coyu, Lane 8, Einmusika or Reboot to name a few. Or in the words of ‚Pulse Radio‘: 'Fat Sushi ... demonstrate their experience and true talent when it comes to creating progressive, club friendly masterpieces.'
