Rafael Ruiz's demo is a dressed mixed using the sounds from Ancient Greek Strings blended with other libraries.

Ancient Greek Strings is a fantastic collection of 7 deeply sampled stringed instruments that delve  into the historic roots of Western musical traditions, stretching back thousands of years. This library features a Barbiton, Cithara, Lyre, Goat Horn Lyre, Pandura, Phorminx and Trigonon.

Pietro Fauno Finizio is a double and electric bass player, composer and teacher based in Glasgow, UK.

Born in Milan, in 1986, he finally responded to the call of music in 2000, after spending his youth by playing with a toy-organ.

His attention was brought to the four strings only by chance, after a friend encouraged him to join in his band; since then he has taken part in numerous groups and collaborations, exploring genres such as '60s and '70s Rock music, Pop, Blues, Funk and Jazz, performing in Italy and the UK.

In 2007 Finizio approached the vast world of Jazz music and took up double bass at school “Civici Corsi di Jazz” in Milan; here he found out his love for improvised music and the freedom that comes along with it. 

In 2014 he moved on to the UK and continued his research through Jazz by studying on the Jazz course at the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland where he graduated from in 2020.

​Pietro’s passion for composing led in 2018 to the birth of Pélagos, a ten-piece ensemble that crosses Jazz and World music by taking inspiration from the musical atmospheres of the Mediterranean area. The band has featured award-winning pianist Paul Harrison and Scottish Jazz rising stars Joshua Elcock (Mezcla, Tom McGuire & The Brassholes), Matthew Carmichael and Anoushka Nanguy.

 Among many, Pietro has collaborated with Scottish singer and songwriter Sarah Caltieri for the launch of her single “No More Tears” on STV, guitarist Daniele Gregolin and Mike the Mic’s “Harry’s Tricks”, serving as session player in an intensive live activity.

When not working on music, Pietro enjoys writing poems and preparing vegan delicacies.

Basssista & Contrabbassista

Sono sempre stato attratto dai suoni; da bambino, il mio primo incontro con uno strumento musicale, avrò avuto tre, forse quattro anni. In un armadio di casa mia era custodita una chitarra classica con cui andavo sempre a giocare di nascosto. Era abbandonata a se stessa poiché nessuno in famiglia ha mai avuto a che fare con gli strumenti musicali; cosa ci facesse lì, in quell'armadio, è tutt'oggi un mistero ma a distanza di tanti anni è bello per me pensare che quello fosse un segno.

Mi piace la sensazione che provo quando riproduco una semplice melodia e ancora di più mi piace quando ho l'occasione di dialogare con qualcuno attraverso i suoni.
