Passion; it's the spark that starts the engine, the hurricane that fans the flames, the total faith in someone, something, someplace? And this is its theme tune.

Courtesy of currently unstoppable Paradiso bossman Rees, 'Passion Theme' is the latest dispatch of smouldering sonics on Alan Dixon's burgeoning Love Attack label, which launched earlier this year with a stellar trip from the mighty Man Power. A star-lit synth smile brigade with themes of Italo, new beat and early Chicago house, it's the vibrant soundtrack we all so dearly need as we gear up for the return to our favourite dancefloor corners.

It's backed by more cosmically minded modern day disco themes of 'Infant Hercules'. A triumphant, slab of synth-soaked house music, the title is a homage to his hometown Middlesbrough and its rich industrial history. Remix-wise Disco Halal chief Moscoman & Komilev keep the creative furnace glowing with a spiralling Italo-inspired twist.

Finally Rees gifts us 'Sapere Aude'. A much tougher, moodier piece of electronic soul, the passion still buzzes through the track but there's a poignancy in the sweeping chords and arpeggio that build and build into an emotional volcano. Engines ready to spark, flames ready to fan, the passion on this one palpable. Sent with love.

There are small flourishes here & there but for the most part it retains a driving rhythm taking reference from Italo & electro of the late 80s with a souped-up modern feel.”

GREETINGS follows up this electrifying entree the introduction of the enigmatic ‘Flavio Zoom’, a cosmic search through robust and considered flavours. Newcomer Sam In Space makes a splash with mid-meal workout ‘Aerobic’, charismatic dark disco with an athletic flair. Things take a turn for the sampladelic with the strange and playful mutant funk of ‘Pre Club’ by Club Sausages, before an all-time classic gets an imaginative Italo rework with ‘The Rhythm’ by Black Feeling. Kayroy teams up with Imogen Cygler for a palette cleansing contemplative chugger ‘Eggna’, with dreamy arpeggios building to a dreamy crescendo, before Pleasure Voyage present final course ‘Return’, a fitting sunset synth-pop soundtrack that’s the bittersweet like the perfect negroni.

London-based Claptrap label is back with their 4th release. We had a chance to premiere a track from it’s previous release by Donald Dust. This time the label is showcasing Berlin’s talent. Longhair is surely a staple name amongst those who are familiar with what's going on in Berlin’s infamous Salon zur Wilden Renate or just Renate club. The duo consists of Renate’s residents Marko (Homeboy) and Bene (1/2 of Peak & Swift). Guys already made releases on Renate’s own label (Renate Schallplatten) and also on Amsterdam’s stalwart label Bordello a Parigi.  

The brand new Heatwave EP consists of 3 original dancefloor-aimed compositions and one remix from another Berlin’s standout name Johannes Albert, a man behind excellent Frank Music label. It’s really an understatement to say that we’re really happy to premiere Johannes remix for a title track here on Bolting Bits. Johannes is elevating the original dreamy, lush and tropical vibes to the next level by adding some extra early 90’s tinged melodies on the keys, but also keeping the original piano riff in place. More often than not it’s really tough to beat the original version of the track which already sounds close to perfection and it takes real talent to outshine it. We will leave that judgement to your ear and taste buds, but we strongly believe that 

Johannes take on the original gets us as close as defining “balearic euphoric house” as possible. Prepare yourselves to lose an extra pound or two on the dancefloor. Both vinyl and digital versions drop on 28th of February, so pre-order your copy today.
