Soela is the DJ and production alias of Elina Shorokhova, a Russia-born Berlin-based experienced pianist and vocalist who has made a hugely successful transition into electronic music. 
She released her material on such labels as Kompakt, Dial, Shall Not Fade, Lost Palms, E-Beamz, Red Ember Records, Sushitech, and others. With a style that combines house, dub techno, and experimental electronica, Soela is creating versatile tracks and mixes, and collaborating with artists such as Christopher Ledger, Steve O’Sullivan, and Module One.

Behind its ramparts—built by order of Louis XIV to defend Marseille’s harbor—the Île Degaby shelters a military fort, named in honor of Admiral Costentin de Tourville. It retained its military purpose until the early 20th century, before being sold by the State to a Marseille industrialist. He gave it its current name, as a tribute to his mistress, the dancer Liane Degaby. The island has been the subject of countless dreams and unfinished projects, changing hands several times without ever truly opening itself to the people of Marseille. Until May 2024, when its pop-up bar and restaurant finally opened!

Together with Timur Basha, he organises the Wordless parties, which take place at venues including Club der Visionäre. His selection is diverse and combines traditional influences with contemporary aesthetic flows. His mix for the Freude am Tanzen podcast is a live recording from 29 August 2025 at Bar Neun Berlin, beginning with relaxing listening music and progressing to dry, groovy rhythms and basslines with catchy claps and hi-hats.
