Ulises Arrieta is a young DJ/Producer from the city of Oaxaca de Juárez, his musical project is full of marked bass, guitars and tropical rhythms, crossing styles such as Indie Dance and Dark Disco, adding House, Techno, Afro House and Xamanic influences to his sets and productions.

Being part of various bands of Indie Rock, Metal and Alternative Rock as a guitarist and drummer, in addition to playing bass, keyboard and synthesizers, he has been helped by different platforms such as Nein Records, La Volta Records, Controlla, Emerald & Doreen, Dogs & Vultures, among others. Despite the tender age, Ulises has already established a solid and consistent career within the Mexican electronic scene.

We have two debuts on our platform today, peeps: The Swedish DJ and producer Robert Folkesson aka The Machine Soul and the Berlin-based label EKORD. Brought to us by an SXDNS-veteran, Högt I Tak (SXDNS179), who contributed to the release with one of the remixes (the second one made with love by Mindbender), “Decker” combines an electronic, yet very organic sonority, yarning for something deeper – that longing for a feeling that should last forever, but bound to echo out as the last lights goes off. It is also a layered story, where the initial sparseness opens to a rich harmonic soundscape as the track progress.

Janne Berglund aka Högt I Tak, Gothenburg's own psychedelic overlord, takes a totally different approach through his “AcidIsFun” version. In his own interpretation of the story, “Deker” is now clad with an energetic acid electro attire. Sheer elegance and brilliance! This beast is literally dressed to kill, and imagining it being played out loud at a packed dance floor brings us a mixture of joy and sadness due to the hard times we have been living on. If only we could.

Sticking with the Italian theme we have going on this week our next guest is DJ/producer Vicky Montefusco. Heavily influenced by the sounds of the 1980's, Vicky started mixing records in the late 90's at private parties before moving on to more established club nights and beginning to make a name for himself. It was around this time Vicky crafted his sound around techno/indie dance but with the addition of synth leads played on classic synthesisers such as the Moog. 

This sound really shines through in all of his productions and mixes to this day and has led to worldwide recognition, with the likes of Maceo Plex, Curses and Ivan Smagghe regularly playing his records in their sets. It's clear that Vicky has a real ear for quality music and we can't wait to share this mix with you. What better a way to forget the stresses of a busy week?

David Meyer is a DJ based in Madrid. His influences range from EBM to Italo, Disco and Dark Wave. Synthetic melodies and deep basses are predominant in his sets, always accompanied by a dark atmosphere.

Meyer is resident DJ at Phoenix, located in the city center, and has also performed at the famous Berlin Club on the Switch sessions where figures such as Curses, Younger than Me, Nick Monaco and Damon Jee have left their mark. 

David is currently involved in the recently born "From the Vaults" podcast, which already has numerous artists confirmed, and is looking to push forward the underground scene which spills with talent:
