He has done for "My Favorite Things" a great mix including some digital only and unreleased tracks like this killer Incognito Remix by MAW and this hard to find, CD Only, Billy Foster’s Samba tune !

Mats has selected too some rare gems, which remember he was a very serious digger and records collector during the 80’s and 90’s like the Killer Britfunk "Final Approach" by ICQ !

Some Future classics also featured by Mats and myself like the EWF’s Cover "Can’t hide love" by Mishcael Stephenson and one of the best Jazz record of the year by Emma-Jean Thackray.

"DoitJAZZ!" is celebrating their 11th year! We have managed to come this far thanks to the support of a lot of people. We are able to return this favor through the thing that we love – recording music with fantastic artists across the globe. Mark de Clive-Lowe, a multi-musician receiving high acclaim around the world for his producing and keyboard skills which fuse traditional expression of jazz, soul music, and hip hop / Miami bass (base music) / breakbeats, will perform at the Beat Solo Concert. Worldfamous dance artist Michito Tanabe leads this exciting dance and percussion showcase, "Kyoto Jazzy Blue Tribe", which also includes the likes of DoitJAZZ! DJ Shuya Okino & Yoshihiro Okino , the leading person in Kyoto Jazz Massive, and whom is rising up from Kyoto to conquer the world. The few female DoitJAZZ! DJs who successfully played in the Europe cross over scene, "Yukari BB" and Wasei Erykah Badu, will also perform, as well as a live performance by highly rated Kyoto singer, "T.A.M.M.I" with beat maker, "NOAH". Gilles Peterson presents a very special 3-hour mix dedicated to the recently departed trumpeter Roy Hargrove.

A prodigious talent whose star rose in the early 1990s, Roy Hargrove recorded and performed with a whole host of artists including Erykah Badu, Common, D’Angelo, Sonny Rollins, Herbie Hancock, Jackie McLean and Oscar Peterson.

Roy Hargrove’s life mission was the to spread the jazz message and succeeded. He departed on 2nd November 2018 at the age of 49, and Gilles Peterson pays a special tribute to the talents of the man with a 3-hour mix exploring the sounds that he brought to the world.

Soul Strut is hyped to premiere Iceland's foremost disco and boogie collector Arni Kristjansson's latest DJ mix in his acclaimed Boogie series.  On Boogie Mixx 11, Kristjansson's tastes evolve from the classic, organic late 70s / early 80s sounds to the more futuristic flavors of the mid 80s, heavy on the synths and drum machines.  Enjoy!

Favorite Recordings is a French label focusing on Soul, Funk, Jazz and other related genres from the 1960s, 1970s and 1980s. With a rich catalog combining original productions and reissues. Founded in 2006 by Pascal Rioux aka Charles Maurice, the label quickly established itself as an international reference. Under his artistic direction, Favorite Recordings offers a real journey, from the AOR of Al Sunny and Lucas Arruda, to the Jazz-Funk of Andre Solomko and Aldorande, passing by the plainly Afro and Brazilians territories of Voilaaa or Di Melo.

Along these new artists’ projects, a few other strong markers cannot be missed such as the now classic French Disco Boogie Sounds and AOR Global Sounds compilations series. 

Like both sides of the same coin, reissues and contemporary productions ultimately reflect the same passion for the warm and analog sound of musical production’s golden age. Today, again and again, Favorite Recordings aims to ensure the succession.
