This is not a typical hypnotic techno mix. Appropriate for headphones and the dance floor, FCKDSKO's mix emphasizes a crescendoing wall of sound that wraps the listener in a warm, reverb-laden embrace while grounding them with uncompromising kicks and bass that oscillate from their toes to their nostrils (you know, THAT feeling). 

While primarily industrial and hypnotic, it takes influence from global sounds, ambient music, minimalist classical music, and shoegaze, giving it a timbre seldom heard in dance music.

Waxing, is named after the lunar phase that crescendos into a Full Moon from the darkness of New. As a result, Waxing is a radiant techno track, with a funky acid bassline and a shoegaze inspired wall of sound that oscillates under a spell of reverb, growing brighter as the track goes on - similar to a waxing moon as it approaches Full.

FCKDSKO Releases Auditory Pareidolia Induction, A Techno EP That Tricks The Senses  Denver-based producer FCKDSKO returns with Auditory Pareidolia Induction, a hypnotic techno EP that draws directly from the psychological phenomenon in its title—auditory pareidolia, the brain’s tendency to perceive illusory sounds that don’t exist, like voices, harmonies, or melodies inside existing sounds. 

This concept becomes a compositional tool across three immersive tracks that explore how repetition, distortion, and modulation can trick the ear, pushing listeners to hear beyond what’s actually present.

The opening track, “Auditory,” sets the tone with industrial undertones and a rolling hypnotic pulse. Jazzy cymbals flicker against cascading effects, while distorted synths rise and recede in waves. Patterns seem to form within the chaos—phantom melodies and rhythms emerge, then vanish. It’s a shifting soundscape built for deep focus and altered perception.

“Pareidolia” is a broken-beat detour with a funkier swing. Its centerpiece is a Reese pad so heavily modulated it feels organic—warm, brassy, almost like a baritone saxophone. This pad can create auditory illusions of harmony and motion when juxtaposed against the ghastly, undulating pads that swell and shrink throughout the composition. It’s dissociative and deeply satisfying, inviting repeated listens to decode its layers.

The closing track, “Induction,” channels acid and melody through a slow-building arc. Crisp percussion anchors the evolving synth work, as the track crescendos toward a wall-of-sound climax infused with breaks and harmonic saturation. By the end, you’re not sure if what you’re hearing is truly there—or just your mind connecting the dots.

I started this track in Boulder, CO and finished it in Medellin, Colombia. I worked on it while I was travelling in Panama as well. It's final mix and master was through a portable speaker and LANDR, which gives it this lofi quality which surprisingly compliments the jazz drumming in my opinion.

An unofficial edit I did of one of my favorite Bonobo songs. Simon Green is quite the brilliant man, and I decided to put a more dreamy, synth heavy take on his more organic classic. It still retains heavy elements of the organic style though, with me adding some jazzier, syncopated drums on top of a dreamy, wall of sound, white noise infused synth.

I don't own any rights to this, and if Bonobo or his camp would like me to take it down, I will. I just think that's against the spirit of electronic music though.
