After six illustrious vinyl releases behind them, Forbidden Dance takes this one deeply close to home. As a rising house name from Croatia, Laseech signs this harmonic and creamy house release iced with stellar vocals by Desney Bailey and backed up by two of the house heavyweights – Dego and Patrice Scott.

A1 The title track “Hey Love” is packed with effortless deepness in and out topped with smooth Bailey’s vocals dancing elegantly over chords and strings. Dazzling tuneage that resembles airy summer jam at your favourite beach spot.

A2 Dego is a man with a thousand sounds. And all of them are rich and impressive. His disco-funk spin on “Hey Love” is ploughed with heavy synths and sharp drums that culminate with a lush keyboard frenzy in the end. 

B1 Patrice Scott’s ability to infuse introspective soul into machine sound is second to none. “Hey Love” goes through melodic morphosis which Patrice delivers so smoothly and tinges it with floor-oriented moves. 

B2 Bailey’s vocals are the soul carrier of this release and it shows pretty much on “You See”. Hazy and melancholic, the track slowly burns under her looped vocals. Stripped, heart-aching and beautifully dimmed.

Pressing on, we present the 3rd release on Sole Aspect from Age of Rage; the production force of Dubbyman & Dan Piu. The project title “credo” is Latin for a firm set of beliefs/principles. In this instance, as you maneuver through the 4 track EP, it’s distinctive how these two gentlemen work in unison with each other; an emotive production romanticism capturing the deep soul spirit.

After the House and Techno Breaks provided by Hector Ram in the second release of the label (SA002), The Ram Fam are now given the task of bringing together artists with a long history in the classic House scene, as well as very active and constantly growing names within the underground, resulting in a 4-track ‘VA’ full of Deep House that promises a fidelity to the roots of the sound of this genre. 

From electro bass lines and deep soulful atmospheres to harmonic piano keys, the work and passion of the artists Boo Williams, Kai Alcé, Owen Jay, Melchior Sultana and Hector Ram fit together in a perfect sense of mutual influences for the SA003.

Boo William's 'Transformation' is a smooth and chord-laced house roller that has a more reflective vibe than his usual party-starting offerings. Atlanta don Kai Alce's 'Love Exists' is a heartfelt house romance then the long-time partnership of Owen Jay & Melchior Sultana douse us in star-gazing chords on 'Soul Expression' that leave you feeling refreshed. Hector Ram's 'Morning Sun Vibes' then uplifts with beautifully gentle piano chords.

Two artists from Croatia are branching out on their own after being intertwined in numerous projects on the local and regional scene all these years. There comes a time when years of collecting and spinning vinyl developes a need to acknowledge one's experience through the finest step, selecting and releasing personal favourites. In short, Forbbiden Dance will be a personal hommage to the music fed by founders immense love for different electronic soundscapes both dancefloor and lounge oriented.
