Exactly one year after his 2021 release entitled 'The Electro Manifesto', DVS NME returns with a collection of new tracks that were produced between late 2021 and early 2022. This 25-track album is another thematic nod to class struggle with the hope to stir class consciousness in listeners. Every song title makes reference to some tenant of the destructive and unequal economic system called capitalism as well as its ever-looming shadow socialism. Even the album cover borrows inspiration from Soviet-era propaganda, re-adapting the artistic styles of many communist agitators.

This album, as with the last, relies heavily on the sounds of classic Electro machines like Mono/Poly, MS-20, SH-101, Jupiter-8, Juno-106, SH-2, System 100, Juno 60, JX-3P, TB-303, Polysix, TR-606, OB-8, TR-808, ARP Odyssey, as well as some contemporary additions to his studio like Hydrasynth, System 8, MC-101, Prophet Rev2, Novation Peak, Minilogue, SE-02, and Microkorg.

DVS NME is the man behind the weekly radio show/daily blog called 'Dark Science Electro' and has been a dedicated contributor to the Electro community for the last 11 years. Aliens was produced over a span of 10 years by Eugene Black fo ©specimenrecords_2023 Paul Rip is one of London’s original acid house pioneers, responsible for the seminal Clink Street parties in 1988. By 1992, he was running Plink Plonk Records with Mr.C, one of the UK’s most reliable sources of house-inflected techno, as well as recording for the label as Krypto and Underground Science. After leaving the label in 1998, he explored multi- sensory art and electro-acoustic music before forming Specimen Records in 2012, which continued the Plink Plonk ethos online. Now under his production name Eugene Black - Black Arts Circus and celebrating a rare 12-inch EP "Neuromancer, Paul still swims in the deep electronic waters running below Detroit as machine clouds of Carl Craig/Basic Channel textures swirl over the hypnotic groove of Tetracyclic for nearly nine minutes. Motor Neuron reaches further into deep space, while dub reggae inflections creep into the heaving swells under the slower ‘Ether’. Massively worthy of support and essential for lovers of great classic techno in its purest form. (Kris Needs - Electronic Sound issue 27)
