The traditional Finnish string instrument - the kantele - is joined by atmospheric synth layering, ritualistic percussion and heavy distortion where appropriate to convey shamanistic and primordial themes. This track instantly captivated me, it's so incredibly serene and builds up in just the right way, especially considering the scene during which it plays. After finding out the name of the song I just had to cover this, hope you'll enjoy!

For recording this I used my Steve Vai Jem signature model guitar with an Yngwie Malmsteen signature pick up replacing the original single coil. The viola was handmade.

Software used is Project Sam Orchestra Essentials combined with synthesizers for the backing track and Pod Farm for the guitar.  Mic's are and AKG Perception and AT831 Voice Mic.
Film recorded with a Nexus tablet.
