Halina Romaniszyn and Aidan Morrison originally joined forces with a view to competing on Orkney Folk Festival's Open Stage in 2012. Since then, the two have played a variety of concerts across their home of Orkney, as well as further afield.

After being placed as runners up at the Open Stage, the pair were invited to play on the Danny Kyle Open Stage as part of the 2013 Celtic Connections Festival. Over the past two years, other highlights have included appearing on BBC Radio Orkney during the station's Children In Need broadcast and opening Orkney Folk Festival's Closing Concert in the Stromness Town Hall in 2012.

Since forming, Halina & Aidan have expanded their musical talent, developing an interest in composition and songwriting. Their songs and instrumentals draw inspiration from Orkney's ever-changing landscape as well as shared experiences. The result is a mesmerising blend of fiddle and vocal harmonies as well as some foot-stomping arrangements of Scottish and Irish tunes.
