About the CD:
So the truth is we actually uploaded this by accident instead of Sasha's GU009 San Francisco disc... but as it got so many plays we thought it only fair to get it back up asap. The album cover, Space Ibiza sponsorship and epic Ibiza setting for the Global Underground series felt like it had come home when this release came out. The stars were aligned, everyone was buying it, and everyone was still mesmerised by Sasha's sound unlike any other dj in the world. It was magical, dreamy, dark and epic. Listening back to it makes you want to be 19 and on a plane to Ibiza... enjoy the mix. x

025 - No other mix CD out has made me want to wake up to it as much as this one. Think slowly rising from a dream/hangover with the best sound possible and that's about it. Both discs on Sasha & Digweed's Northern Exposure open with absolutely gorgeous tracks, Gus Gus's 'Believe' being an example of this. Furry Phreak's 'Soothe (Chicane Jazz)' dives deeper into the sound before the cd moves on to intelligent breaks, early trance and climaxes in what must be one of the most beautiful electronic tracks ever made... Hybrid's Symphony. This isn't just music you would wake up too, it's so good, you'd probably happily die to it as well. Another CD which raises the bar and takes it's own thrown on the Classic Mix CD series, and a fine choice for our quarter century episode. Turn it up... and enjoy the mix.

1. How and where was the mix recorded?
I recorded the mix in Lisbon, my current home. It was a breeze selecting tracks from my collection, adding a touch of the city's vibrant energy to the mix.

2. Can you tell us about the idea behind the mix?

Sure! The idea behind the mix was to capture the essence of spring with a blend of new and unreleased tracks. I wanted to create a fresh and uplifting vibe that resonates with the blooming atmosphere of the season.

3. What are you up to next? Projects, ideas…

I'm thrilled about the upcoming release on Luck of Access, featuring the flawless work of my friend and incredible producer, Stojche. I had the pleasure of remixing one of his tracks, and I can't wait for everyone to hear it. Stay tuned.

4. Lastly, for you what is Dance, Shake, Swing!?

Haha, it's definitely an awesome journey that is accessible to everyone who wants it. The elevation of spirit and perfect rhythms for the feet!

We had the pleasure of taking you from the night into sunrise through many sub-genres in our record collection. It felt so good having the freedom to craft the set exactly how we wanted on a setup that had been perfectly tweaked by Lyra Audio + crew over the course of 2 days.   

We spent around 6 months planning this event. Everything from the lighting (@seanclarke) to the sound, personally applying for a TEN to use the space (that’s another story altogether) and how the event would run.
 
When you have all the these other variables running alongside an event it can be difficult to lock into the set at your own party but this time everything worked out and we’re really excited to share the memory of this special night. 

Thanks to everyone that made it down and helped in anyway, it’ll always stay with us, this one <3

Honey Dijon Boiler Room Sugar Mountain Melbourne DJ Set

Nail provides the lead track for FOF's latest vinyl only excursion - originally produced in the same time period as the classic tracks on the 'Ode Rammel' reissue ep earlier in the year, 'Glazed' lay dormant on one of Nail's DATs for many years before being rediscovered and given it's first airing now on FOF. Chunky roughed up house beats are the order of the day here, a real peak time groove. New talent 'Harry McCanna', resident at London's infamous 'Undersound' nights, debuts with 'Act 1', a beautifully subtle bassline driven groove that rises above the pack with it's super warm pad lending the track a warm and fuzzy hypnotic edge. Romanian talent 'Zece' kicks off the flipside with the most contemporary offering; a breakbeat laden groove with a fx laden vocal snatch underpinned by that all important b-line whilst 'Sonodab' rounds things off with a beautifully deep and melodic slice of electro on 'Brown Study', the percussive elements giving rise to a hazy melodic pattern for those early hour excursions.
