Rift - a dark, high-impact Neurofunk assault that fuses haunting atmosphere with brutal precision. The intro sets the tone with grim, cinematic pads and eerie detuned harp plucks that build a sense of tension and unease before erupting into chaos. When the drop hits, all control is lost. Massive distorted basslines tear through the mix, driven by tight, snappy drums that strike with mechanical force.

Amid the destruction, light and airy vocal samples drift through the carnage, adding a surreal contrast that elevates the track’s intensity even further. Rift is a perfect example of Dropset’s ability to balance emotion and aggression; a sonic divide between beauty and brutality.

Deep Within Recordings ignites their launch with a massive thirteen track compilation album, already setting a standard for the brand-new imprint in a way which many new labels won’t be able to match.

Pushing through only the most cutting edge up and comers from Austria, the UK and Luxembourg, this forthcoming album showcases exactly what this label has to offer the contemporary drum & bass scene.

Packed with hotly tipped names such as Hexa, Mofes, Kidsonic and Envy, three tracks featured have already seen support from the likes of Noisia via their radio show as well as a wide range of DJ spins, with the Deep Within Recordings sound already infecting club spaces throughout Europe.

Envy’s ‘Exile’ is the first track to take centre stage and it features sweeping levels of white noise which suddenly cuts out to leave you fully enveloped within its percussive segments. ‘Mars’ by Half Ace then rolls through with a more sci-fi inspired intro, one which develops into weighty levels of sub bass and tapping hi-hats. Hexa’s ‘Solitude’ brings through the more stripped back levels which he’s become well known for, without losing any of its desired impact. Then Jak’s ‘Apothic’ follows suit, just as cutting amongst its crashing drum sequences. Kidsonic’s ‘Gunman’ features an immersive soundscape, whilst ‘Orders’ from Master Error concentrates on its pumping kicks. ‘You’ll Never Know’ from M:FX continues the ruminating vibes, meanwhile Mofes ’Panthalassa’ features switches which keep you on edge. ‘Duplex’ from Nysn, Offline’s ‘Infamous’, Sedax’s ‘Subframe’ and ‘Trainride’ from collaborative duo Sequent & Skruff each hammer home the signature sound of Deep Within Recordings, whilst doing so with their own twists. Then finally, Teej & Division pull the LP to a close, with an amalgamation of driving drums and a bassline which takes you out into the murkier depths.

As a package, the first release from Deep Within Recordings lets you know what they’re about. With more scheduled for 2020, the imprint is looking to quickly elevate itself to a position that most labels have spent years trying to reach.

Up next at Incurzion Audio is the long-awaited return of veteran and golden child of the label, Hexa. An extremely talented and diverse producer, we are graced with a rare deep and sinister EP from him - a release which is a testament to his quality and depth as an artist across many sub-genres of drum and bass.

The EP begins with a rolling, menacing minimal number setting the tone of this dark and mysterious musical journey. Quickly, we ramp up the energy with a sound design monster as the second tune - Pandora's Box - which sits as a strong highlight of the EP, designed for damage on the dancefloor.

Continuing to delve into Hexa's broad repertoire of talent, the third track on the EP is an extremely well crafted uplifting experience, in stark contrast to the rest of the tracks. With an air of mystery and a feeling of wonder, "Flashlight" is a welcome change of pace in an otherwise dark story.

Finally, rounding off the EP is a deep and bass-driven vocal track with Incurzion Audio's vocalist Maria-lea. A fiercely strong bassline complimented perfectly by eery, solemn vocals signs off this EP with immense strength.

We are truly blessed to have Hexa return to our label with such a well crafted 4 track EP, and we are extremely confident in its content as always.
