Very minimal in nature, dub techno is atmospheric, ethereal and spacey, sometimes edging near the line of ambient music. Actually, although indeed techno, this variant isn’t exactly music meant for dancing -you’d be hard pressed to find a warehouse party going hard until sunrise blasting these soothing sounds. Rather, dub techno is music meant for the car ride home after the party, satisfying for both active and passive listening, these dreamy soundscapes promote a sense of peace and calm while simultaneously instigating notions of contemplation and wonder.

Happy 13th anniversary Feed The Raver! 🥳 Never in my wildest dreams did I imagine that I was going to be DJing and producing music for 13 years and also curating a podcast for this long that was born and created with the purest intentions of helping, sharing and feature some of my favorite artists and their music. Connecting with so many people around the world has been extremely rewarding and magical. I’ve been always a music nerd, I started raving also when I was 13 even 🤣 so this celebration feels extra special. I have survived everything so far, so many podcast have come and gone and I’m still here dancing, discovering new artists and using music as my main connection to the universe and the divine ✨😌✨. I think I’ve decided I’m going to continue this journey until my last day in this world so hopefully one day I’ll be a grandma announcing  a 100th anniversary badass Feed The Raver episode and funny enough I’m sure this music will still be as relevant as it can be because sounds like these will remain true gems forever ✨🙌✨

On this special episode I'm excited to welcome back Monosphere (Jeroen Smulders), founder of the amazing label an podcast Deep Electronics. This is the second time he records an anniversary episode for FTR and I'm so happy to share this beautiful set with all of you. His label Deep Electronics is simply one of the best out there for these epic sounds so please check out all the releases. TM Shuffle is more than just a name in the international dub techno scene. The Finnish producer, DJ, and head of VUO Records has a rare talent for distilling the essence of depth, space, and rhythm into his productions. His music is infused with a hypnotic pulse that doesn’t shout loudly but tells stories subtly – of snow-covered landscapes, quiet nights, and an unwavering love for electronic music. What sets TM Shuffle apart is his uncompromising dedication to reduction. His musical philosophy is not about quantity but quality: less is more. By deliberately limiting himself, he becomes more creative – digging deep, searching intentionally for the right sound, and developing a distinct musical signature. This principle is evident not only in his productions but also in his thoughtfully crafted, driving DJ sets.

He shares this passion off stage as well: as the label head of VUO Records, he provides a platform for other artists who share his vision of dub techno – raw, organic, and timeless.

In a personal conversation with Andre Kronert, TM Shuffle offers insight into his creative workflow and studio philosophy. In a world of unlimited possibilities, he consciously relies on a minimalist setup: turntables, a mixer, a few select synthesizers, drum machines, and a computer for sequencing. Subterranean Journey

Just a few years ago, Daniel Avery emerged from a famous Scrutton Street studio where the likes of Andrew Weatherall and Timothy J FairPlay were regulars. Since then, he has gone his own way, releasing a machine made, proudly analogue brand of indie-electro-techno-dance music that has come mostly on Errol Alkan’s Phantasy Sound label. Mixing dark beats with dense and smoky synth atmospheres as both a DJ and producer, he knows how to cook up a metallic and menacing groove with aplomb. After impressing with his debut album, Drone Logic, in 2013, we're proud to invite him to this year's Lente Kabinet, Dekmantel Festival (together with Roman Flügel), and our mix series. 

The fabric resident kicks off his mix with some heady drones and deep, spacious grooves that are eerie and unsettling. The next 90 odd minutes sees him blend sublime acid, slithering synths and increasingly minimal techno into a seductive set that is expertly paced and seamlessly mixed. Perfect for the dead of night in some intimate back room, it shows a heady and atmospheric side to Avery that is truly compelling.

For the second Inveins birthday, we have picked the label founder of Silent Season, that we always followed with great inspiration for our project.
He's a model for all of us in every sides, musically and humanly.

Jamie McCue is a DJ and label head who lives a quiet life in the forests of British Columbia, Canada. He is the creative director and label head at Silent Season, a music label influenced by his natural surroundings. The sounds of Silent Season grew out of the connection between deep ethereal music and the rain forests of Vancouver Island. A soundtrack to some of the most radiant and aural beauty in the world. Jamie crafts long building sets, allowing the music to become a journey and unfold slowly. His sound explores the deep, psychedelic nature of techno, saturated with atmospheric ambience and dub sensibilities.
