What started out many years ago as a very basic and clumsy attempt at mixing about 10 of my fave tunes and big beats for a lil mixtape to play in my car for driving at night (think ramming 2 pieces of Lego together with superglue because you can't figure out how to join them using the studs and knobs you can see on the top of each piece, and you get the idea!)
…before sitting on my PC as an unfinished draft for another 3 years...
…then resurrected, worked on, very slowly evolving into this...

Megamix Vol. 1: Noise delays recovery

A 34 minute mix, featuring a few of those old fave tunes and 1 or 2 from more recent times, now also with an added sprinkling (barrage) of Fearofsound: 
Mix / field recordings / recorded samples / electronics / effects / textures / synths / guitar / bass guitar / programmed drums / beats / loops etc...

Mixed by yours truly, a touch abrasive in places and with as many samples shoehorned in as possible... Found a clip of Julian Assange from 2011 where he speaks that ol' eternal truth, added a bass drum after it and from there the track just grew and grew. Life finds a way lol.
Initially the samples paint quite a bleak picture, but all soon starts to feel a bit more rosy and the mix ends on, what I believe, are several very true and very positive messages. 
Another world is possible. 

After a while of not doing anything musical, or even feeling like it, I really enjoyed the process of creating this. Felt good to get on the laptop and push all those levels up into the reds, get the pedals out and dust off the guitar again.

Credit of course to the tracks used in this mix. Many would (and do) leave this key information out, I cannot do that! Without these tunes, this mix would simply never have been able to slowly grow to life and take the form it has, so a huge thanks to:

For everything else I've sampled / turned inside out & upside down / fucked with until it sounds unrecognisable... (too numerous to mention them all but no doubt you can hear Assange, Trump, Corbs, Bill Hicks, Liam and Noel G, Death Grips, EMF, Primal Scream, WWF's Gorilla Monsoon (!), Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas (bat country!), Morpheus from The Matrix, O'Brien and Winston from 1984, Jamie from 28 years later etc etc)… thanks, this mix needed some voices and despite the general and ever present feelings of impending doom / world weariness - being forever pissed at all the injustices, the unfairness, the injustices, the unfairness, the general idiocy, and the endless lurch from one disaster to the next - I certainly didn't fancy singing!
