"Originally from Montreal Canada, Paris-based DJ Feather Hed was initiated to music at the age of 8, when her mom put her to classic piano. Years have passed and after having been exposed to many electronic music genres and experiences, her entourage pushed her to becoming a DJ. Maybe you call it destiny, coincidence or chance: in a few months she became a resident at French Radio FG Chic, and a year later she was invited to play at one of the venues of the Pacha Group in Ibiza.

Feather Hed blends organic sounds and world music with melodic house and techno. Her mixes are characterized by a strong kick and bassline mixed with addictive percussions. Through her sets, her goal is to make the mind travel and connect souls on one and unique vibration. She recently started producing her own songs.
Feather Hed’s past gigs include Lìo (Ibiza), Mirage (Paris), Hôtel Plaza Athénée (Paris), La Hacienda Na Xamena (Ibiza), Random Universe (Barcelona), JNcQOI (Lisbon), SXM Festival (St. Maarten, Caribbean) and The Gritti Palace (Venice). She has a residency at the iconic barge Chez Mila in Paris and at FG Nomade radio. "

When the summer heat doesn't let you sleep in the city

My blend of warm and cold sounds recorded under quarantine on Sunday April 5th 2020 as my personal contribution to @sxmfestival 2020 edition.

Musically, I was inspired by a blend of cold sounds(progressive, tech & electro) and warm music(latin, arabic & afro). The cold sounds translate the fear, the pain and the sadness of the current situation, while the warm sounds are an interpretation of the communities that are separate but together, and the humanistic impact of the covid-19 context on our societies.

This set is also a tribute to all the legendary parties that have been held on a Sunday over the years and the set I was meant to play at Karakter Beach on March 15th @sxmfestival. The festival was held 4 days out of 5, which is a miracle. I am grateful for this edition to have happened, and leave this set as my personal contribution to SXM Festival.

I am hopeful for the future. When spirits travel and souls connect... magic can happen.

Afrikaburn won't happen in Tankwa Town this year due to the COVID19 pandemic. Of course we all respect the physical distance needed in those times, but it doesn't mean we can't stay connected!

On Easter weekend, from April 10th till April 12th, a bunch of Camps and DJs of AfrikaBurn decided to bring the best of themselves from their homes all over the world - to yours.

Here's the audio of my set for this great project and it is the first time there is a recording of one of mine Live Saxo Set in the cloud. ;)
