In 2015 London Elektricity surprised us all with his first album in over five years. ‘Are We There Yet?’ more than deserved its influx of praise, now the Med School team has taken on the label boss’ latest masterpiece….

“London Elek tracks are ripe for the picking when it comes to remixing because I always tend to cram in far too much actual music, so there’s lots to choose from for producers. For ‘Are We There Yet?’, I just thought it would be a great idea if the album itself didn’t come out on Hospital but on Med School and also to get each Med School artist to choose a track and remix it.

We also asked some non signed ‘satellite’ Med School artists to be involved and in all my 20 years of doing this, this has been the easiest remix album to put together – it’s like all the artists were on their A game and were feeling the elements of each tune.

Some are almost like VIP mixes – Anile’s version of ‘Singing Ringing Tree’ is like mine but much better! Whereas Frederic Robinson’s remix of ‘Seven Days To Live’ totally re-imagines the original. Whiney wins with his brilliant deep rollout of the vocal track ‘Tenderless’.

The title explains itself – each medical student has scanned the original, dissected it and then re-assembled the DNA to create something totally new.

Toronto's Gremlinz has been carving a path of his own within Drum & Bass for over a decade, staying true to the core elements of the music and never wavering from his sound, regardless of whatever the passing trends around him might have been. His signature sound remains rooted equally in Reinforced/Metalheadz/Bluenote era Jungle as it is in Renegade Hardware’s early 2000s moodiness, bookended by equal parts Dub and Techno and tied together with an ever-present B Boy edge.

Its 1990 and a young DJ Ink has solidified his love for the culture known as hip hop- as the years move on so does UK street music, there are new genre’s forming and Ink begins to hear what is familiar to him, but there is a new twist-it is the UK passing by the USA, with a huge dose of African and Jamaican influence , and of course this is music to a budding Dj Ink’s ears. First begins the Pirate Radio Circuit, working hard at his craft, allowing the followers to get familiar with the roll, steadlily bookings began to build up and soon it would be time for Ink to become associated with three names that changed the landscape of British electronic music-and they were Basement Records, and slightly later Metalheadz and Renegade Hardware

This release comes as a limited 140g clear vinyl 12" pressing with full artwork sleeve + white glossy inner sleeve, including a mp3 download voucher + a free poster/inlay and all tracks mastered by Stuart Hawkes of Metropolis Mastering London.

Translation returns with the long-awaited Prints of You Remixes EP to continue the sonic exploration of its namesake, which marked Nuage’s transition to house and bass music. Up first, veteran London-based outfit Blu Mar Ten deftly re-imagine the album’s opening track Colors at a crisp 170 BPM, applying lush atmospherics, energetic breakbeats, and rolling basslines for an uplifting dancefloor vibe. Next, Nuage delves into experimental/post-modern drum & bass territory on his remix of Waterfalls, crafting an immersive, naturesque soundscape with a subdued percussive shuffle, twinkling keys, and bouncing 808 bass. Fellow Saint Petersburg based artist Bop applies his signature “Microfunk” sound to Overseas, juxtaposing crunchy lo-fi drums and glitchy FX with the uplifting house vocals and soothing synths of its predecessor. The Levels end things with a twist, re-imagining the melancholic Shining into an uplifting slice of future soul music with a textural, arpeggiated synth lead, bubbling 808 drums, and fresh verses from Alia Fresco that seamlessly blend into Veronique J’s cello performance.
