‘Searching’ is a 5 track extended play exploring the polarities of ecstasy. This record is an acknowledgement and homage to the searcher within me. Searching for myself, searching for truth and purpose. Learning to navigate light and dark and the trivialities of life. These sounds and ideas have guided and consumed me, equally. Kate Simko and Tevo Howard rejoin forces with a new single, ‘Bring It’, from their upcoming album on Sasha’s label Last Night On Earth. Native Chicagoans, Tevo and Kate grew up on house music, and their collaboration pays homage to their home city while exploring new ideas outside the limitations of genre boxes. The forthcoming album, ‘PolyRhythmic', is a masterfully crafted production from two of the current days most dedicated purveyors of Chicago house music. 

“Bring It was a track I made for Movement Festival in Detroit a few years back, and it has very Detroit-influenced chords.  It became a staple in my live set, and then Tevo added the 303 bass line and classic Roland drums to bring in an old school feeling.” – Kate Simko

Both Kate and Tevo’s heritage shines brightly through ‘Bring it’. Their equally passionate devotions to music started at young ages. Tevo, a bassist who started mixing records in the late eighties, coupled with Kate’s love of piano and house music, makes this a completely natural pairing.  ‘Bring it’ foreshadows the essence of ‘PolyRhythmic’, an album that fuses modern inspirations with the classic sounds of house music.

The vocal version of ‘Bring It’ was re-crafted last summer in New York at Butcha Sound Studios with vocalist Amunet Shah. Also enamored by house music, Shah created raw and authentic NYC-style vocals. Kate and Tevo’s new school American sound shines through on this standout production from the album, fusing together elements from Detroit, New York and Chicago house music. The addition of Tevo Howard’s Roland-303 baselines perfectly capture and elevate the classic sound of Chicago. A menacing yet melodic sound that highlights the ‘PolyRhythmic’ project perfectly, A classic sound with a contemporary twist.

‘Bring it’ paves the way for Kate and Tevo’s long-play album ‘PolyRhythmic’. This single opens the door and invites listeners into their platform for experimentation in house music.  This exceptional production from the album is a chance for Kate and Tevo to stay true to their musical roots whilst exploring broader creative horizons.

As they did on their last release, Hell Yeah once again look to offer new takes on some of their excellent recent album projects here. This new EP finds four producers tackling tracks from Tempelhof’s blissful and beautiful, ambient and slo-mo work alongside Gigi Masin, namely 2014’s Hoshi. Those producers are Ptaki, Balearic Gabba Sound System as well as label regular Luminodisco and the legendary Reverso 68.

First up is fast rising The Very Polish Cut-Outs artist Ptaki, who with his remix offers up a seductive and sombre number with lazy chords, gently swaying drums and a subtle balearic feel. Dreamy vocals complete the picture, but buy the EP digitally and you will also get a bonus instrumental.

Then comes the label’s in house and off kilter production team, Balearic Gabba Sound System, who flip ‘Buena Onda’ into a deep cut bit of sunset disco with glowing arps, elastic drums and sweeping string sounds in typically stylish fashion.

It’s all very romantic and sun kissed and that continues with Reverso 68 aka long time balearic stars Pete Herbert and Phil Mison.
Their take on Red Venus is one that slowly builds in stature, with plenty of lush pads, cute stabs and percolating drums that really lift you up.

Lastly, Hell Yeah regular Luminodisco gets a little more broken up and experimental with his dishevelled but soulful sounding version of My Velvet Book It’s slouchy like a hip hop record, but over all, like a modern take on Don Carlos.

For many, the Summer months are all about taking time off and chilling in the sunshine. But the Mullet Records crew like to do things a little different, and boy have we been busy... very busy, as we proudly bring you... 'Tad Wily - Garage Love (Remixed)' - a remix package that oozes quality and bursting at the seams with digital dancefloor delights!

So let's not mess around and kick things off with the big guns, as we proudly bring a certain Belgium duo into the frame... anyone for some Spirit Catcher?

It should come as no great surprise that 'Spirit Catcher' have finally ended up collaborating with Mullet Records, as they've arguably been our favourite producers for some years, and Mullet head-honcho 'Justin Winks' almost had kittens when this remix landed in his inbox. To us, this remix epitomizes everything that's great about the Nu-Disco scene, as Spirit Catcher deliver a synth-tastic session of broken beats, Boogie basslines 'n swells that few can equal... in our opinion this is quite simply what it's all about, so forget about reading the rest of this Press Release, and just go and dance your socks off to this beautiful slice of Belgium truffle!

Actually don't do that, as we have four more gargantuan remixes to tell you about :o) as next up are the mighty 'Casio Social Club', who ease off on their familiar Boogie shuffle and slide us into a euphoric seven minute pad laden 4/4 beauty of major chord heaven.

Moving on we have Mullet regular 'Elijah Collins', who's 'Garage Love' spin heads straight to the darkness, as his 'computer love' remix totally goes off, with vocoders Mellotron strings and a double-drop that'll rinse any dancefloor clean!

Next-up we have new-comer 'Del Strange', who's recent EP on Faze Action Records blew us away. So it was a no-brainer to bring Del into the frame and boy does he deliver, as he sticks close to the sound of Tad's original version but with added B-Boy percussion and lead synth trickery... anyone for an Electro tom-tom?

Lastly we have Mullets' latest signing 'Fishing Vest', who go all-out sunshine slo-mo Balearic, as this almost reggae tinged melodic musical merry-go-round, closes this wonderful EP perfectly!

Tad Wily - Garage Love (Spirit Catcher Operator Mix)

Antenna! is the brand-new music project created by the seasoned Italian DJ and producer Andrea Bertolini. His particular attention and passion for stuff like Chicken Lips, Loose Joints, and The Emperor Machine, which have been sources of inspiration for him since day one, has generated the idea to start producing under the new moniker. Juno 106, Korg MonoPoly and SCI Pro-one are his special weapons, and disco, funk, house and psychedelic attitude are the special ingredients of his solid originals and collaborations. 

The track we chose to premiere, “Laguna”, opens his forthcoming EP to be released on vinyl on the promising label Lunetta11: "A disco ballade characterized by baroque arrangements that set a real romantic mood", taken from the release description. The funky guitar riffs, the cosmic-infused synth layers and the stark bassline Andrea put together created a must-have tune for the “space music” lovers out there.
