Belgian talent Compuphonic has long since demonstrated a serious knack for melodic sophistication, and this new EP for Exploited elevates those lush sounds to some stunning new levels.

Metropolis is a breezy slice of electronica, detached from the dancefloor whilst still taking some inspiration from it. A dreamy female vocal glistens over fuzzy pads in the intro before muted electric piano chords and the kick join in tandem. Heavenly vocal harmonies glide in the background alongside subtle chime tones, with a filtered down synth arp adding yet another dash of sweetness. The various elements slide and mesh against each other effortlessly, with sprinkles of subtle FX lifting the track in just the right places.

Slow Bilbao is more in the chunky deep house vein, hazy tuned percussion samples drenched in pleasing swathes of noise distortion hit in time with thumping kicks and thick bass tones. A melody unfolds in the higher registers from the xylophone-esque resampled instrument, recalling Bonobo at his best as a shuffling percussive groove develops. The samples bring an exotic tone to the track, with the contrasts between the deeper and more pumping sections an intensely satisfying one.

It’s been two years since the release of “Eyes” - the debut single from Borneland featuring Line Gøttsche. Friday the 24th of February 2017 the brothers are back, and Music For Dreams are proud to release two sublime remixes of the beautiful track.
Eyes was the follow up of “Bug A Boo (Borneland Remix)” - a reworking of Destiny’s Child all-time classic ‘Bug A Boo’ featured on MTV and Billboard. The original track combines classic keyboard sounds individually championed by the brothers including Rhodes piano, Prophet 08 synth and characteristic SH-101 sub bass, with acoustic violin by Andreas Birk and soulful vocals by Line Gøttsche. This is a track that not only communicates the simplicity of life and the perdition of love for another person, it's fragile vocal and compelling beauty just sticks in your head. Note about the Song: We actually first heard the song via Monsieur Adi’s Remix and thought it was awesome but were curious to hear the original, so we checked it out and loved Say Lou Lou's original but thought there was still room for a really upbeat version with our progressive indie flare (we hate the word flare). What really appealed to us about Say Lou Lou was they have this renegade softness, its sorta punk but not, that makes no sense right, but there is sort of care-free beautiful nature to there voices and we thought we could make a summer anthem with this baby, or die trying (side note: at no point were we close to death in the making of this remix) So we got the stems, and wanted to create something that really screams 'let me in I want to fucking dance, but I also brought my own beer.'  So here is how we did it:

Quickie from us: "This is really simple, we heard the original song ‘Operate’ by ASTR  and it was on repeat for a LONG time, its a beautifuly sung and composed song... it just has so much character… Its like a stripper made of gold that stole your heart and actually gave you her real number. So when we began remixing it, we honestly didn’t exactly know where we wanted to go with this track at first, but as soon as we got started it just poured out with this very solom melody, that doesn’t betray the song and its sex but give it this mellow added bounce, it was a perfect double up…"

Quickie from us: "So its really great when coincidences and fate find each other, because that is what happened… We absolutely were in love with this summer anthem by smallpools, it reeked of fresh cut grass and the afternoon sun... So when their ppl reached out to us about doing a remix it was the easiest decision ever. We can't say it wasn't a challenge though with such a strong vocal, but we really wanted to pin it up against the classic 'house music pluck' we have been hearing so much of, but use it in a vain that felt a bit different but still large, but finding that union was tough in the sense the two had to warm up to each other rather than clash... but in the end we think we found this great atmosphere for the song to exist."
