Average White Band's "Work To Do" gets a slick groove extension, a very young Michael Jackson gets a cheeky arrangement polish and added beat muscle on "I Wanna Be Where You Are" and Minnie Ripperton's "Baby, This Love I Have" gets a complete strip-and-rebuild. We conclude with Leon Ware's "Why I Came To California" where Pulse ensures the latent funk in the bass and groove are brought fully for the fore. Stunning."

What's The Use (Rework)

Next up on The Reflex’s official vinyl label DISCOLIDAYS is a two tracker fully licensed from Cerrone via Because Music / Malligator featuring first time ever multi remix from the classic ‘Look For Love’ by The Reflex (the original was released on his Cerrone IV album in 1978) b/w a welcome repress of The Reflex revision of ‘Hooked On You’ (Cerrone #1 remix of all Cerrone remixes on Spotify) that was only available on a super limited 12” back in 2015.
Both remixes have been released digitally by Because / Malligator on the ‘Cerrone x The Reflex’ EP last April, and Cerrone generously granted a licence to The Reflex in order to release it officially on his label DISCOLIDAYS second release.
Cerrone loved the remixes so much that both are now integral part of his Live / DJ set and ‘Look for Love’ will be the only remix done by someone else featured on his forthcoming album ‘Cerrone by Cerrone’ which sees the disco legend revisiting his own back catalogue.
The vinyl went straight to the top of Juno Records overall charts on pre-orders alone, the day before its official release date.

An artist whose love affair with Classic is now more of a 16-year marriage with two kids and a nice house in the suburbs, the ever-evolving musician, DJ and composer James Curd presents his new EP for our delectation. 

‘Two Decades And A Day’ explores the essence of Curd’s dance music credentials. ‘Treat Treat Treat’ (so good he named it thrice) is disco at its most pure with seductive hooks and audacious grooves for days. Alongside Chicago veteran Fuzzy Cufflinxxx (aka Bear Who?), ‘Bring Back The Whoop’ delves into Curd’s crucial Chicago house roots, the irresistibly Chicagoan vocal tying together a ruthless ricocheting bassline and well-considered percussion breakdowns into a very neat little package. 

Curd is right where he needs to be on Classic; consistently surprising and never far short of excellent, ‘Two Decades And A Day’ is another instant triumph.
