➤ About:
We welcome dance music veteran Quenum to the Balance Music stable. The Cadenza Records co-founder is no stranger to the global scene. His releases on labels from Rebellion to Soma have cast deep spells globally for over 30 years now. He delivers a four-track EP on this Balance debut that feels minimal in aesthetic but maximal in expression.  If you find yourself lost in a groove, you’re probably listening to ‘Batman Wake Up’. Highlighted by warm bass which rumbles and rolls, the dripping percussion gallops at a steady pace. A distant synth rises like a wave, and with it, uplifts the listener into a controlled euphoria.     With a peculiar rising bass, there is a feeling of hypnosis that permeates ‘Briggs Street’. It would feel like a transmission from a different dimension if it weren’t for the almost languorous vocal, anchoring you in the present. This is one for the serious heads.  
‘Small Brain’ features an inviting jungle stomp that draws you in before a deep, blubbering bass catches you in its thick web. It forges into a breakdown thick with intensity and high on mystery. Approach with caution; on a massive sound system, this will cause a stampede of curious punters to the DJ box asking for the track ID. 
  On ‘Step by Step’, the pressure is released a tad. Random vocal statements float on top of a fantastic house rhythm. The beautiful discordant stabs, a throbbing bassline, and a direct house beat all merge to make this the most accessible cut on the EP.

Tim Engelhardt returns to Poker Flat Recordings for the first time since his First Contact release in 2020. 

In the meantime the German producer and DJ has been gracing other fine labels such as Stil Vor Talent and Watergate Records, but Poker Flat is delighted to welcome back his distinctive deep and effecting approach to tech house with his new EP Follow.   

Follow is a highly musical track - the live-sounding drums give it a motorik feel, while the bubbling synths and melancholic, jazzy keys bring an element of depth and sophistication.  

Burning is a techier cut, with a thick, rounded bass and some of Tim’s trademark tension building synth lines. It’s the perfect soundtrack for the upcoming festival season.

Berlin-based, Belgium-born Strummer has been a Get Physical associate for several years. He has dropped various singles including the standout 'Rising' which also featured on the Words Don't Come Easy series, and always crafts the perfect mix of rhythm and melody with plenty of hints of his homeland's famous cold wave sound. He often uses his own voice, drum machines, synths and guitars in his music, and since his debut album in 2018 on LOK Recordings, he has had high profile support from the likes of Laurent Garnier, Adam Port and Ame. The latest selection of tracks from Lopezhouse, the duo consisting of David Lopez and Carlos Cruz from La Mancha, Spain, have been a steadfast fixture in John Digweeds DJ sets for months now, their unique creativity always getting huge crowd responses everywhere around the globe. The duos extraordinary ability to amaze with their inimitable electronic compositions is second to none.

The Lopezhouse sound is vibrant, distinctive and different, and Bedrock is always committed to supporting thought-provoking experimentalists of the highest order.
Surfing those uncharted sound waves, Something Is Happening is an utterly hypnotic 12-minute throbbing futuristic journey, that constantly surprises and delights with twists galore. The Spanish duos uniquely esoteric, organic attitude also shines bright throughout their lunar landing inspired Strange Music From Dark Side Moon. This is exceptional forward-thinking House music at its finest.

Lopezhouse first came to the attention of Bedrock fans when John Digweed included Guy Js excellent dub remix of Crosses & Angels on his Live in Brooklyn opus. Their debut November Clouds EP followed in the summer of 2017 and was met with much critical acclaim. Since then, they have carefully navigated their ever-rising popularity and gained huge respect with further excellent releases on the likes of Exploited, Plattenbank, Sincopat, Suara and Vondreib, before returning to Bedrock to conclude a highly successful 2019. Lopezhouse are most definitely artists to watch into the future.

Russia born, Germany based Yulia Niko makes a welcome return to Get Physical after her ‘Acid Mellow’ single back in November 2018, this time featuring Coco Coco and with SIS and Mihai Popoviciu remixes.

Niko was intoxicated with dance music from a young age and soon got her first residency in Sochi. She has since spent time in New York before settling in Berlin and has now set up her own vinyl only Tochno Techno label. She has also released on Baile Musik, Nervous Records, Plant74, played parties in LA and continues to make musical waves.

'Molly & Sally' is a fresh tune with a jacking beat and live percussion that brings an afro feel. The lead melody comes from what sounds like an oriental stringed instrument, and Coro Coro’s vocals are enchanting and meditative. The whole thing is brilliantly unusual and absorbing, and will also pump a backroom party with real style.

Well travelled Romanian, Mihai Popoviciu is considered one of the most innovative eastern European producers thanks to his expertly distilled grooves. Here he strips things back to an eerie synth, stringy groove and haunting atmosphere full of off-grid chords, and is sure to send heady crowds wild.

Then comes a remix from long time label friend, Crosstown Rebels and This And That associate, SIS. His brilliant version is dark and tripped out, looping the vocals and occult instrumentals into a groove that weaves in and out and ties your mind in knots.

These are three left of center house tracks that bring fantastic weirdness to the club.
