With this mix I want to pay respect and show the influence of Black American music (some of whom were influenced by Industrial, Goth and Synth) to House and Techno music. The mix was inspired by listening to Electrifying Mojo, Ron Hardy and Afrika Bambaataa. The Electrifying Mojo shows were apparently a huge influence on the early Detroit Techno producers; he would play synth pop and post-punk mixed with Prince and George Clinton. Ron Hardy would also mix up Industrial and Synth stuff with Black music. I went through my vast record collection and dug out some of my favourite Electro, Synth-Pop, Italo and Proto-Techno music from the past 30 years - rarities, classics and edits. I got so deep into it, the mix ended up being over 3 hours long! I hope you enjoy my attempt to educate and pay respect to the roots and influences of techno and house music.
