"I’ve always been thrown off by the obsession with change. It’s as though people truly believe in themselves so much that they define their lives by what they find to be an original thought. It’s not that I don’t believe in change or that I find it unnecessary, quite frankly I believe it’s always happening. It happens at different speeds, but always in a cycle. 

It’s been a rough time in the collective consciousness, (i.e. it’s politics, emotions, actions & all its equal and subsidiary parts) So the push for change has been in the forefront of many minds & hearts. With this, it’s very crucial to take time to regroup & be with oneself in order to help others. (You cannot invite someone over for dinner with an empty pantry.)

When I was making these songs and compiling them I took time to reflect on the many cycles I have jumped in and out of in my life. The idea of change has always brought me back to the idea of redefinition. 

With this, it isn’t that I’m looking to simply make a change and therefore something will cease to exist, but more redefine what exists, to acknowledge what it was before and my relationship to it & proceed to recharge it with the awareness of new eyes. I think this is how love is possible, dreams are accomplished, hate diminished, and empathy replenished. 

We will have to live with our traumas for the rest of our lives. This we cannot change. We can only redefine our relationship to it.  

I’ve taken some friend's songs, field recordings, found sounds, improvised jams, composed pieces, a remix, and a collaboration to reformulate my past, in hopes, to energize my possible future. When I experienced many of these sounds I was going through my own traumas & fears, hopes & interests, “pandemics & “beyond”, and tried to place them in a new light-a new day. 

I hope that when you sit and listen to this, you too can take an introverted moment to meditate and bring awareness to your own cycles. And maybe with the moon’s new cycle, move into a new awareness of things that may need acknowledgment and resolution.
