To me and many of my peers, "acid house" was not just about 303s and purple ohms, it was a feeling - a vibe that permeated through a mix of musical genres, house, techno, italo and cosmic disco, EBM, balearic, whatever.  I hope this collection of more modern tunes (plus a few contemporary classics) captures some of that vibe.

Anemoia is a contemporary album that draws inspiration from the golden age of funk, jazz, soul, and disco in the 1970s, reimagining these classic sounds through a modern lens. The project's name refers to the Greek concept of nostalgia for an era one has never experienced, reflecting the creator's deep connection to and reverence for this pivotal period in music history.

Featuring ten diverse artists, the album weaves together various musical styles while maintaining the warmth and spontaneity of a live performance. From the jazz-funk opener "Neon Gods" to the cinematic closer "Nino," the record spans multiple genres, incorporating elements of soul, hip-hop, and disco music to create a fresh, cohesive sonic experience that bridges past and present.

Kicking off proceedings is Dublin-based duo Jervis Drive with their raw as title-track that finds its deadly groove immediately and stays there to great effect. Italian maverick Marcello Napoletano provides a twisted, fuzzy and leftfield alternative of the same track. On the flipside comes Manchester’s Tomson aka Tom Lynch (Development Music/we_ctrl) with the tension-building and euphoric In A House On A Street, while for something more heads down and deeper there is the DJ Aakmael Mixx.
