Luigi Tozzi has calmly cemented his position as a leading DJ & producer of the deep techno scene for his distinct brand of techno that merges the sound of hypnotic techno with organic grooves from ambient and dub techno. 
Raised in Rome, he takes influence from the timeless Italian sound, which he’s further developed with an emotional, swirling, dubby atmosphere.
There’s an unmistakable texture to his productions.
Tozzi’s unswerving commitment to his sound, alongside his pensive and considered development as an artist has brought him to where he is today, with a touring schedule that’s taken him to some of the finest clubbing establishments around the world.

Since the launch of their much-loved party brand in 2002, Giles Smith and James Priestley – Secretsundaze’s founders and residents – have dedicated their work and output to ecstatic club experiences. 

A record label followed suit, as did their booking agency, long-running NTS radio show and a stack more DJ and production projects undertaken by the pair. Plus, of course, plenty more parties. 2022 marks 20 years of Secretsundaze, with the duo currently working on some exciting anniversary celebrations – but we’ll leave them to reveal those in due course. 

Here, the pair usher in the new year with their first new mix in 18 months. “The mix is direct and club-focused,” they tell Crack Magazine. “All-vinyl, with our typical Detroit and NYC stylings before moving into some more pushy atmospheric, European bizzness.”

Panorama Bar resident and Love On The Rocks label head Paramida joins us for the 92nd edition of the Phonica Mix Series. 

Since moving to Berlin in 2010, Paramida has since become a key figure in the cities ever-expanding electronic music scene. In 2014 she launched her Love On The Rocks label which has seen releases from Massimiliano Pagliara, Telephones, Fantastic Man, Elles, Violet, Alex Kassian and more.  

Having spent five years working at Oye Records, Paramida is certainly no stranger to digging. Each of her varied DJ sets brings a new beacon of pleasure and surprise. Blending proto-house to trance, percussive gems with high-energy techno, Italian dream house and irresistible new beat. Sounds that are very much reflected in this here recording. A 3 hours Toy Tonics Mega Mix featuring ONLY music that Toy Tonics released in 2021. Mixed by our TT brother KAPOTE in a very eclectic way. This mix includes the last releases by London born, Berlin living Cody Currie as well as Munich disco house twins COEO (Toy Tonics family members since day 1). You can hear 2 futuristic broken beat tracks by London’s Athlete Whippet as well as Italian disco don Sam Ruffillo (the Musumeci remix!). 
Check also our new German live disco duo GOME and the two tracks by american born, Berlin living keyboarder and producer Joel Holmes. Remixes by Sworn Virgins, Joe Claussell, Jex Opolis (for our new artist Digital Ivan from Moskau)included too.
Of course the mix also includes tracks from our Mushroom House compilation. We re-released 12 of the Mushroom tracks on a 2LP vinyl last year. (Mushroom House is a series of EPs with cosmic afro indie dance tracks we released since 2016).
This mix also includes some of the Toy Tonics edits. Reworks from the Illegal Jazz vinyl edits series that Kapote made with our friends Delfonic. Last but not least this mix includes also some of the ITALOMANIA edits. Reworks of rare Italian disco songs from the 1970ies that Toy Tonics released on a 2LP vinyl (bandcamp) compilation. So, we’re up to number 5 and who better to celebrate with than Dj Fett Burger! The Norwegian land dolphin aka Captain Sarcasm aka DJ anti-establishment aka possibly one of the nicest guy’s you’ll ever meet. 

Founder of the legendary ‘Sex Tags’ record label and the always faithful ‘Trushmix’ series, An extremely talented being across all forms of ‘art’ (loose term), from remixing tracks to doodling on a used napkin the man oozes a frustrating amount of genius without ever sacrificing his own ethics. 

Fett Burger and his equally talented brother, Dj Sotofett have worked their asses off over the last 15 years to get where they are now, building Sex Tags literally from the ground up, it took years of hard work to shape the label, nowadays we’re at the mercy of asshole discog’s resellers to even get a sniff of an old release. 

Mr. Burger himself as a DJ is pretty close to god level, the way he plays is like none other, A journeyman that can only be matched by a sherpas donkey running rings around the summits of Mt. Everest. If you’ve been lucky enough to see him play then you know exactly what I’m talking about. 

The mix itself, a toxic blend of disco, funk, soul and reggae, a perfect soundtrack to dancing in the kitchen. A guaranteed mood heightener, A contagious trip amongst the stars, even your mum will enjoy. Scientifically impossible to not nod your head for an hour and a half, this won’t leave your portable media player for years to come. 

I’ve been lucky to get to know the burg’s over the last couple of years as we’ve had him at Inner Varnika for the last 3 and he’s helped us evolve the festival into something we only dreamed of, he truly ‘gets it’ more than most and he’s always happy to help in any way possible with a side of the driest humour known to man. It’s an absolute honor to put this mix out, it brings to light exactly what we’re about, which is completely open to interpretation.

Good day / G’day / I hope this next mix finds you well / how about some precedented times for once! Interpret that as you please. Whatever your poison, it’s time for another dose and the doctor is in. It's with an absolutely full heart that I present to you the next chapter in the ‘stay the fuck home experience’. Our esteemed guest is none other than Mr. Naarm Deepcast himself, Myles Mac, aka a tall glass of water aka captain cloud aka Mt. Killa’dancefloor’o. Literally one of the OG immovable chess pieces of the Melbourne scene. Responsible for bringing Oz music up to date and into the future through the Melbourne Deepcast // TIP!! (for which I owe a lot to in many ways) and for bringing the world to us through a multitude of platforms and ideals thrown together across nearly every venue in Melbourne. For all his merits he’s still remained a very humble dude, he has all the time in the world for others and their harebrained schemes. Myles will gladly lend his ear to munted punter’s telling the same story for the third time, just a bloody good all-rounder, you could take him from kick-ons straight to meet the parents and they would best mates within the hour. I've had the pleasure of knowing Myles for about ten years now and seeing what he’s done and how he’s done it has been a pleasure to watch, he’s paved the way for many a DJ, myself included.

So, you’d think with all this experience in Dj’ing, running parties, and curating one of the better mix series in this audible world that he’d be able to produce a stunning mix that really highlights his knowledge of all of the above and the human psyche in response to those avenues, well, you’re correct. The mix is absolutely sublime. I couldn’t think of a better soundtrack for the introduction to hot weather, pool hangs, spritz’, warm nights, long drives down the beach (which we can now do), and whatever else you associate with summer. The mix itself is an audio-guided tour through a perfectly curated exhibition, gently carrying through from room to room, subtle nods in every direction but with subconscious overarching narrative tying everything together. This is achieved through the lost art of DJ’ing. Scientists say that these “disk jockey’s” would spend years searching for special types of recorded music for which they would then “blend” together on some “banging sound system” to the public to create moments of pure euphoria. This mix will end up in museums as a perfect example of that so people can really understand how their parents met. Anyway, the mix is laden with nostalgia, a 90’s head wet dream, continuously cementing a smile on your face and the overwhelming urge to nod your head. Pack some lunch for this trip, an extended hike through the mind of Myles Mac. This is your cue to stop reading and press play.
