La Vallée Électrique 2023 • Martinou

This is Part 2 of my Mystery of the Motherbeat series of DJ mixes. I’ve wanted to record this mix for a long time as a follow-up to my 2018 mix by the same name. Both are a fusion of styles used to build a psychedelic hypnotic soundscape for deep listening and personal synchronization with the heart of Motherbeat. No big hands in the air moments to speak of here, just deep mixing and some of the most beautiful records in my collection. Last month she released her amazing EP ‘’Go Deep’’ on Toucan records. Her set at ADE in 2022 is still very freshly imprinted in our memories!

We had the pleasure of taking you from the night into sunrise through many sub-genres in our record collection. It felt so good having the freedom to craft the set exactly how we wanted on a setup that had been perfectly tweaked by Lyra Audio + crew over the course of 2 days.   

We spent around 6 months planning this event. Everything from the lighting (@seanclarke) to the sound, personally applying for a TEN to use the space (that’s another story altogether) and how the event would run.
 
When you have all the these other variables running alongside an event it can be difficult to lock into the set at your own party but this time everything worked out and we’re really excited to share the memory of this special night. 

Thanks to everyone that made it down and helped in anyway, it’ll always stay with us, this one <3

A day to remember. Hope you will enjoy this 2 hour set taken from a 4 hour journey of one of my most memorable shows to date. Sailing the Hudson river, watching the sunset, enjoying the skyline of New York whilst playing my favorite music of that moment. Goosebumps all over.
