O Canada (O Cheanada)

Féis Mhàbu is a dynamic organization based in Mabou, Cape Breton, whose purpose is to facilitate the progressive development of Gaelic culture. Our programs draw participants from the surrounding area, and in some instances, from all over Cape Breton and beyond. Our organization has taken a leading role in nurturing young traditional musicians and Gaelic singers.

Here we have a fresh take on Canada's national anthem with a Cape Breton flavour sung in the local Gaelic dialect by Féis Mhàbu's youth singers. The singers were accompanied by Brian Doyle, a well known Cape Breton guitarist, and Anita MacDonald, a talented young fiddle player. Brian Doyle has mentored and Anita MacDonald has been a youth participant in past Féis Mhàbu programs.
