Faisal Mssyeh, beter bekend als Feis, brak in 2007 door met zijn bijdrage aan 'Klein, Klein Jongetje' van mede-Rotterdammer U-Niq. Op de track 'Zegevieren' van goede vriend Winne (2008) noemde Feis voor het eerst 'Hard van Buiten, Gebroken van Binnen'. Op 21 november 2014 bracht hij zijn langverwachte solodebuut uit onder deze titel.

In de jaren tussen 'Zegevieren' en het debuutalbum van Feis verschenen van de mc legendarische tracks, sessies en diverse samenwerkingen met onder meer Winne, Kempi, Murda Turk, Hef, Sjaak, Appa en MocroManiac.

In de aanloop naar het album bracht Feis de 'Gebouwd Voor Dit EP' uit; een verzameling tracks die niet op het album kwamen. De EP werd verkocht via een 'kofferbakverkoop', die Feis en zijn Ecktuh Ecktuh team de kans gaf om fans persoonlijk te spreken.

Op 'Hard van Buiten, Gebroken van Binnen' staan natuurlijk vele Ecktuh Ecktuh leden. Zo hoor je onder meer Winne, Lexcouper en 18krt. Producties zijn er onder meer van Pim, Phatt, SoundsLikeMoney, Ezra, Alee Rock, Soulsearchin, SABeats en Ronnie Flex.
