Many of my lyrics are things I haven’t got to say because of how men are raised by society to behave around feelings. But I won’t be silenced and I can’t either, obviously, since it comes out in lyrics when someone tries to do it. There are just too many structures and traditions that silences women and teaches us that showing emotions is a weak trait of character. It’s not us women who should ”plane out” and show less emotions - that’s an amazing qualification that should be highlighted and be a self-evident part of everyone's upbringing, boys and girls. I chose to release my album on March 8th because I’m a feminist and it feels powerful to release it on international women’s day, because I think it’s super important that traditionally typical female qualifications - like talking about feelings - are lifted as something positive (because it is!), and because the main part of the people behind this album and this release are women, and that’s awesome.”
