As Anjunabeats' first signing and one of our label's oldest and dearest friends, he mixed the Anjunabeats Worldwide 08 compilation in 2018; featuring ten of his own tracks, it reached the #1 spot on the iTunes dance chart in the USA, UK, Canada, Australia, and more. 

Oli’s last releases on Anjunabeats, ‘Make Me Feel’, ‘Snowfall’ and ‘Borderline’, won support from the likes of Armin van Buuren, Ben Malone and Gabriel & Dresden, with the former single earning a spot in the Anjunabeats Volume 16 compilation. Last year, he took our Group Therapy Weekenders at The Gorge, London and Australia by storm, and followed up a busy summer of touring with a dynamic set at Anjunabeats Los Angeles. 

Anton Sonin, aka SØNIN, has been featured on mint, NMF Dance, Trance Mission and Night Rider on Spotify, as well as danceXL and New Music Daily on Apple Music. Anton cut his teeth as a producer in a studio space in Helsinki, shared with compatriots Super8 & Tab, Yotto and Supermodels From Paris. His last release on Anjunabeats, ‘Waterfall’, climbed to #3 on the Beatport Trance chart.

Northern Irish producer GVN releases ‘Thinking About You / Believer’.

Gavin Brown, aka GVN, dropped his Anjunabeats debut ‘I Don’t’ in 2021 as a serious statement of intent. First introduced to the label by anamē’s Marcus Schössow, the two would go on to collaborate on the 700th Anjunabeats release, ‘Take Me There’, which earned spins from Tibasko, Lane 8, Kryder, Anja Schneider, Armin van Buuren, Giuseppe Ottaviani and many more.

The Derry-native showed no signs of slowing down in the years that followed, serving up remixes for the likes of Lange and Chakra and attracting support from BBC Radio 1’s Pete Tong and Danny Howard. Both tracks on GVN’s last Anjunabeats release, ‘Save Me / Alone’, quickly shot to the Top 10 of the Beatport Breaks Chart.

GVN returns to the label this year with his dynamic double-header ‘Thinking About You / Believer’, which straddles the line between breakbeat, progressive house and trance.

Expect more new music from GVN in the coming months. ‘Thinking About You / Believer’ is out now on Anjunabeats.

The stories behind the EP:

Will I Ever Find Love - I wrote this record after I developed quite strong feelings for someone, but the person did not have the same feelings back for me. I’m usually a very happy person, but this experience put me in quite a dark place at the time, which is when I wrote this track. Having never been in a serious relationship with anyone, this track represents the feeling of wondering if you will ever find the one.

Downpour - This record was written in October of 2016 soon after my graduation from Duke University when I was living with family east of San Francisco (in a town called Danville). To clear my mind, I would take walks on a mountain called Mt. Diablo, conveniently about 5-10 minutes away. I get far more inspired from foggy/rainy weather than when it is sunny, so I usually went on long hikes when a rainstorm would be forecasted. One morning I was hiking on the mountain, there was a massive rainstorm, and the fog and the clouds provided some gorgeous views. Later that afternoon, I started “Downpour” based on this experience.

Tassajara - This record was actually written a day or two after Downpour in October of 2016, still with the initial inspiration of fog and rain from my mountain hiking. At the time, I was writing music some 12-16 hours a day, with a single break in the middle of the day for lunch. The main road I would take to get lunch was called “Camino Tassajara.” One day on my way back from lunch, I was testing what is now “Tassajara” on my car’s sound system, when I glanced at a street sign, and the name fit perfectly.

Bearing the prestigious ‘tronce’ seal (that's British for ‘trance’) ‘Mama Africa’ delivers an ilan Bluestone-sized hit of driving rhythmic bass, cascading layers of synth and the return of collaborator EL Waves (Elizabeth Osei) for another stunning vocal performance.

Elizabeth explains how the track draws heavily from her cultural roots, “This is a song of love and blessing for my mother, father and loved ones. In Akan culture we recognise the sacrifices that each individual makes when raising children of the next generation, passing down wisdom from old to new. Sending out blessings is something we do to show love and appreciation and to say thank you.”

ilan Bluestone ‘Mama Africa’ featuring EL Waves is set for release on Anjunabeats on the 19th of February with the full EP arriving this spring.
