Free Download: Chromatics - Lady (Felipe Van Lagerback Revision)

Some tracks just happen… 

I grew up listening to The Doors, and Riders on the Storm was always one of my favorite tunes of all time. 

During my first experimentations with playing a full live set, I found myself playing this melody on the saxophone, then I looped the harmony and used a baseline from another track called “Darkness” to bring it all together… that’s how “Riders on the Storm” - the instrumental version became a part of my live sets everywhere I go… 

After playing it a bunch, I felt like it deserved a proper production & recording. 

I played around with it a bit, and it just didn’t work for me with the saxophone. I felt the vocals were missing… I tried to use my own voice but that also wasn’t a good enough representation of the song, so finally, I hit up Nachum from @Automatictoys, and the rest is history… 

I hope you enjoy this upbeat version of this classic tune and dance along as I do (:

On the vast, dusty plains of the planet Voxar live the Vocalite, a mysterious people in tune with the pulsating energy of the techno universe. Their homeworld is an endless desert of shimmering metallic sands, crisscrossed by glowing, neon rivers that light up the sky during the night.

The Vocalite are renowned for their ability to hear the vibrations of the universe and transform them into music. Their voices, sharp and clear as crystal, can control the elements, bringing the desert to life with endless, hypnotic rhythms. Legends say their melodies can bend time itself, stretching every single note into a never-ending dance that makes the heart of the desert beat in unison.

Deeply connected to the machines and technology that permeate their planet, they use sound waves and digital frequencies to shape their cities—floating metropolises of gleaming obsidian structures, where the hum of synthesizers is the language of the land. Every Vocalite carries a unique, glowing amulet that resonates with their personal frequency, harmonizing the pulse of the community.

The Vocalite follow an ancient code: "Only those who hear the rhythm of the cosmos can preserve balance." An album made by Victor and me, coming from a shared interest in 90s breakbeats. It has four tracks that shift from calm atmospheres to steady rhythms. The opera mix is quiet and spacious, built from tones rather than beats. The space mix adds drive, with breaks, basslines and touches of acid. The club mix keeps things grounded and direct. Victor’s Hypnotoad mix ties it together in a way that works both at home and in a club.
