We have a lot of new and exciting projects in the works here at Distrikt HQ! This time around, label favourite Christian Cambas is back with a very serious heavy hitter to lead the pack, and Tomy DeClerque marks his triumphant return to the imprint with some seriously deep vibes in ‘Space Church’! We would like to give a warm welcome to Felix Krocher making his Rhythm Distrikt debut with the perfectly produced, peak time roller - ‘It’s Alright’, along side fellow newcomer Agent Orange with his retro stabbing ‘Rave Riot’. Fellow label mates Alex Costa, Spartaque, Criminish, Irregular Synth, Joe Mesmar and Egoism round out this fine collection of 10 hand selected weapons.

'Iyewaye', Oliver Koletzki’s first release after the autobiographical I AM OK album, introduced a new facet of the artist’s sound. The EP catered to a darker and more raw aesthetic, a direction followed and deepened by the four remixes. First up is the title track 'Iyewaye', turned into a lengthy tech infused introspection by Hatzler. Loosely centered around the initial vocals, Loco & Jam’s makeover explores the track’s captivating snappy narrative. The more rhythm focused 'Ipuza' gets a special treatment from Hidden Empire who dial up the aggression of the percussion. Zakari & Blange downplay the track’s initial exotic elements, focusing on the rattling synths and giving it a late-night dancefloor rework.

There is no doubt, artists generate – especially in our scene - hypes occur again and again. Be it a good track or an unforgettable DJ-Set. However, these come and go as quickly as they have emerged. And there is also something happening in this scene, which is quite apparent: It happens relatively fast. In Germany, the motherland of the electronic music, an artist has seldom managed to infringe at the same time upon such widely spread generations and masses. It is not by coincidence, that ideas like „German Techno Master“ (DJ Mag) or countless first grade placings originate in the process of the scene votings. Meanwhile one can also hardly keep up counting his fanclubs, who welcome him with frenetic exultation spreading across the entire republic and far beyond.
