Known for their boundary breaking partnership in producing bad boy bangers on many top shelf imprints and for claiming the term Koreanstep, German sombre maestro Kaiza and Korean beat-smith Xeomi join forces again on the highly anticipated Horns EP. Don’t sleep on this fully loaded package of high energy rave heaters with contemporary Jungle twist meeting upfront Drum and Bass!

“Haste” opens with the distinctive vocal “I’m a warrior marching through the crack, heroes calling back” which carves out a pathway for some very cool chopped Jungle inspired beats to trailblaze through this special tune. Soundsystem culture FXs, deadly deep subs and an additional bassline melody will shake mind, body and soul whilst the vocal will embrace crowds singing it back on dancefloors this winter. 

Punctuated by rumbling basslines, 80ties influenced pads, atmospheric brass and strings, “Horns” is a ride with epic feel carried by cleverly crafted beats. Fill-ins and supplementary basslines are interspersed in such a way that a perfect emotional stepper emerges.

“Rollerblade” blends beefy breaks with a subtle saxophone loop and a devasting drop which is going to blow your speakers. The shredder of a bassline is wrapped by skippy riddims and percussive backings including full guarantee to resonate with a lot of ravers out there who enjoy dancing in huge bass havocs.

Stepping up with a cinematic feel “Sahara Dawn”, turns heads and warm hearts by ease. Warm chords and a percussive framework led to a fresh Drum and Bass push fueled by skippy drums and rude modulations. 

Kaiza is no stranger to murky and techy beats that cause pure dancefloor-annihilation. Since 2006 Kaiza pumps out high-quality music across a whole host of labels. The Drum and Bass heavyweight from the South of Germany is respected for his consistent focus on energy driven Drum and Bass of all kinds. Besides Florian Kaiser is the label head and operator of T3K Recordings and sets dancefloors on fire with his ruff and rugged DJ-sets. With the Horns EP Kaiza showcases his versatility as an artist.

Hailing from South Korea, Xeomi can be found in the front row when it comes to exploring the twilight avenues of Breakbeats. Techy and heavy rolling tunes with a style from the dark side is what Xeomi has become synonymous with. Due to his extraordinary skills, the rising star has managed to impress not only Mixmag but a lot of beat connoisseurs around the world. Xeomi is definitely a warrior to watch out for.

Rizzle’s debut album is a sonic exploration of twilight, that unique time when it’s not quite dark and not quite daylight either. The area between light and dark and the relationship between the two serving as inspiration for this sensational LP.

Setting out to make a solid drum and bass album, Rizzle delivers 15 tracks that work both in a club and listening environment. With no intro/outro or fillers, the album takes the listener on a journey through light and dark. This concept is further enhanced individually within tracks such as 'Voyager', 'Pathways', 'Duality' and 'Tempest' - each demonstrating this contrast beautifully within each tune.

Along with 12 exceptional solo productions, Rizzle collaborates with Wingz for 'Pathways', Black Barrel for 'Blur' and GROUND for 'Gloom.' Each featuring guest producer adding their own flavour to the Rizzle magic, delivering their combined take on the concept of light and dark.

Following their mentorship with EQ50 and RAM Records, which saw them fall under the guise of the label’s management team and stand as the very first RAM EQ50 mentee signed through their scheme, Mandidextrous continues to be a pioneering force within dance music through the imprint’s sister-label ProgRAM. Helping to engineer fresh genres including Jungletek, Raggatek and Speedbass, they infuse their creations to explore drum & bass through ProgRAM although it's their own approach to music creation which has made this so successful. ‘Techno On My Mind’ and ‘Move Faster’ shows Mandi’s versatility on full display and it introduces the producer to a brand-new audience. One they'll be sure to capture instantly as part of their growing fan base, something which has been seen at Mandi's packed-out gigs throughout the summer.

Recently being interviewed by the BBC about influencing and educating people through their music ‘on what it’s like to be transgender or to be queer’, Mandi was also the first ever transgender artist to write the closing ceremony tracks for renowned festival Boomtown in 2019, a massive feat. Mandi has used music to create space and change attitudes within the rave scene like a springboard, something which RAM is proud to provide a platform for too.

Featuring long-time collaborator and Bristol native Bish, ‘Techno On My Mind’ is a force to be reckoned with, building on top of a steppy half-time intro, a fist pumping first drop and smashing drum & bass breaks. And already receiving spins from Jaguar on BBC Radio 1 and BBC Radio Introducing through their guest mix, ‘Move Faster’ sits on the reverse, pounding with energy, with Mandi adding their own flavour amongst classic drum & bass signatures. So once again, it’s time to get with the ProgRAM. One which creates its own paradigms with the help of its roster.

A label renowned for bringing new names into the spotlight, the latest act to have caught Futurebound’s ear goes by the name of Exile. Making his Viper debut alongside Trafic MC with a two-sided single, ‘Button Mashing’ and ‘Can You Feel It’ are the perfect introduction to this budding talent’s sound.  

First up to bat is ‘Button Mashing’, a sinister number with impressive technical ability. Featuring local favourite Trafic MC, the track is dark & ominous from the get-go, begging to be played deep in the underground. A nod to neurofunk drum & bass, this fast-paced and intricate production is accompanied by the captivating bars of Trafic MC, making for one seriously filthy result. Bass heavy and frenzied, Exile is sure to turn more than a few heads amongst peers and fans alike – a truly remarkable debut.  

The flipside of the single offers something completely different, standing in stark contrast from its counterpart. Displaying incredible diversity and mastery, Exile delivers a glamorous liquid number, equally complex but with a much gentler atmosphere. Bright and luxurious, ‘Can You Feel It’ is an elegant dreamscape that will sweep you off your feet.  

With two completely different but equally impressive tracks, there’s no doubting Exile’s debut is a strong one, and you already know there’s plenty more in store from Viper in 2022.
