so every now and then i hear a song that hits me right in the feels, makes me feel like butterflies and sunsets and lonely bars, and this was one of them. i was simultaneously in love and also furious that I didn't write this song, so i was incredibly psyched to work on the remix - it reminded me how fun and awesome making music can be. it's one of the most emotional and moving dance tracks I've heard in awhile, so I tried to honor that and still put my own twist on it. much love to mako, those guys are brilliant, so go follow them and check them out if you haven't already. On hearing Troye’s track, ‘Wild’ for the first time, I instantly fell in love with the vocals and I immediately saw the potential for this remix. I really wanted to capture the power and emotion of his voice whilst adding a more melodically driven, upbeat emphasis to the song. I think this song takes my sound in a slightly new direction with more prominence on catchy piano riffs and deep house influences while still retaining the characteristics of the ‘Hibell’ sound.

The first time Martin heard this song on the radio, he called me (Tristan) up and was like, "you HAVE to hear this new song by Alessia Cara! It has this dope 'ay ay ay ahhh' vocal chant in the chorus!" Right away, we thought about how awesome it would be to remix it. Then about a week later, our manager emailed us the track (without knowing how much we liked it) and asked us if we wanted to take a stab at it. No brainer.

Anyways, we had so much fun making this remix! We made a crazy vocal chop in the drop, I played a little guitar, and it was our first time working with a rap. Hope you guys like it, and if you do, PLEASE give it a heart on HypeM. Thanks!

There are so many songs on this album that speak to me so hard lyrically. This one in particular gave me chills the first time I listened, and still speaks volumes to me every time. It's a super mellow track, so I thought it'd be cool to give it a little twist with some more energetic production.
