A silent call from the past. It is calling for me.

I've been missing this sound. It is weird, because I have never thought I stopped hearing this. Times have changed. Without fully realizing it, I have strayed away from it. Disregarded what used to be as too simple. Discovered new sounds that pulled me in, distracting me further from appreciating where I came from. I got pulled in many directions. Yet suddenly, once I finished work on "I Need You," an obviously old Simon Patterson style inspired piece, it became a full circle, I am back to this.

I learned to appreciate Trance music by listening to it on my MP3 player when I was sitting in the back of my parents' car. The emotions this music provoked inside of me were far different from the feelings I have for Trance music these days. Somehow, maybe it was to me being younger, the music had a captivating effect on me, literally pulled me into another world, an escape from real life. I have worked towards the goal of creating such music myself. But recently, my music has turned into things that do not evoke these exact feelings anymore. Expectations were set on this sound. I became conflicted about continuing to produce music like this. I wanted to go back to it.

And so, it is time to find back to my roots and dig in my own crate of memories. A look back. I tried to get into the mindset of old me to create this, a piece of music that Icedream back from before 2014 would have aimed to make, with just a twist of recent influences and nostalgic hints. Purely uplifting, lots of piano and melodic playarounds.

It may or may not be the last of my attempts on coming back to this style. But it hopefully will help me lay down some doubts. Who knows... maybe I just need to rewind sometimes, to know where I came from, so that I can move on with things in the future. Different things, that may no longer stay within the boundaries of the old self that is "Icedream."

Aptly named and suitably scrambled, the track combines the chaos Hard House with the hard kickin' backbone of a Techno banger. Classic rave stabs a-plenty, frantic, heavy and Corrupted. Two fresh names emerge onto HTE in this gigantic euro collision to kickstart 2022.  Iain Cross has already featured on HTE as FLUX (alongside fellow Atmosphere resident Wragg), but this time he's back flying solo, bringing classic Tom X vibes boldly into the future. Employing 'End of the world' vocals, fat-eerie saw leads and a savage kick and bass, it's a very welcome arrival from the ex Country Club hero. If that wasn't enough, on remix duties German Hard Trance heavyweight Yakooza (aka DJ Wag) (French Kiss, Life On Mars, Man On The Moon) joins the party with a fresh psy-style twist, whilst still capturing the raw essence of the original.

Felix R is a producer and DJ from Australia predominantly focused on creating driving, hard edged, percussive forward audio. Having a passion for the technical aspects of dance music since his teenage years, his foray into production was a natural one, becoming a qualified audio engineer with experience with both live and studio work. Drawing upon elements from a multitude of genres to create a unique combination, his influences range from sporadic Tech Trance arrangements, gritty Electro baselines, euphoric Trance melodies along with the drive of pumping Schranz percussion.
