With a penchant for off-kilter drum and bass, bass, dub and dubstep, sina meticulously curates sets that mix and match elements of atmospheric trip hop, murky post-DnB and the mischievous 2-step sounds of the 90/00s. Witnessing sina grace the decks at Inward Goods festival was a nostalgic luxury - I felt like I’d stepped into some form of magical Y2k swamp party, where only the best of early 2000s drum and bass were being thrown down. Sina’s contributions to the community extend beyond the decks and into the realm of party planning and label curation (Secret World) whilst also forming ⅓ of the band dregs. Stateless is the second full-length album of genre-hopping	post-everything	experimentalists Tangents. In a delectable hybrid of styles, Stateless cuts up and weaves together rich instrumental passages from the multi-talented ensemble of musicians whose collective resumé spans decent swathes of recent experimental music history: British electronic music producer Ollie Bown (Icarus, Not Applicable); Adrian Lim-Klumpes (Triosk, 3ofMillions) on piano, Rhodes, vibraphone and marimba; Peter Hollo (FourPlay String Quartet) on cello; and the duo Spartak (free improviser Evan Dorrian and singer/producer Shoeb Ahmad on drums and guitar respectively). Sparse metal-coated drum hits stumble over glistening reverse vibes, Saharan guitar licks, Fender feedback and washes of filtered piano. Moments of acoustic jazz surface, flowing into stoic upbeat anthems, drenched with multilayered patterns of glitched strings.

I'm often asked in interviews what my early influences were.
If I could have made a mixtape years ago like the ones I've been making more recently, then it would probably have sounded something like this.
71 tracks in 75 minutes, with mashups of up to 4 or 5 tracks playing at the same time.
Features many legendary artists of the time, from DJ Shadow, Aphex Twin, Boards of Canada and Orbital through to Portishead, Luke Vibert, Kruder & Dorfmeister, Shy FX & UK Apachi, Bonobo, 4hero, Adam F, Amon Tobin, Chemical Brothers, Red Snapper and Aquasky - with some Classical, Folk and Choral music, and Moondog, The Beta Band, Donovan, Jive Bunny, Velvet Underground, Herb Alpert and classic jungle thrown in.
Apart from appearances from Brian Eno and Derren Brown, this mixtape doesn't feature interviews and field recordings like the other mixtapes in the annual series, but it does still feature acapellas from J-Live, KRS-One, Common, Roots Manuva, Choclair and more.
