To make sure that I'm giving space for as many artists as possible and to try and discover new ones, I'm trying to make playlists of artists alphabetically throughout the year on all platforms.
Here is the letter S but it's only the tip of the iceberg. I'm sure that I will have to make another.

Spurn Point is the debut album by London based artist Shelley Parker released on her label Structure. New compositions are presented from re-edits of selected installations, performances and a video project.
BOILER HOUSE / CORNELIUS CARDEW PROGRAMME / 2011
Taking inspiration from Cardew's improvisational methods of generating music, the piece set in the lower operational levels of the building, responded to the architecture of the site and the accompanying network of utilities that activates the building. Using live audio feeds, recordings and low frequency pulses, the installation constructed an immersive re-imagining of Morley College in keeping with the spirit of the former tutor Cardew and the legacy of his work.

This is another historical recording from me from 1986, only with a Korg Mono/Poly Synthesizer and a Roland Chorus Echo, a second cassette player and a Yamaha Headphone Amp (I had used it as a Mixer), also my vocals.

Citrus Aura Quartz Clusters

SSP (Six Sample Project) was our first initiative after coming together as DASTA. The concept was to ‘gamefy’ music making and give ourselves restrictions in terms of time & content. 
Each of us put a sample each into a shared folder and had  1 week to finish a song using all 6 samples. We did this exercise 4 times and picked our personal favourites for this compilation. Some of the samples can be heard quite clearly but some of them have been warped, stretched and altered beyond recognition.

Tower of the Winds

Cornwall's shadowy seas with their deep undertows, drifting tides and scraping, seeping tones are the inspiration for this 30 minute live set. As this builds from scratch, each layer is experimentally woven into a tapestry of drone, hum and thrum. Frequency, sound and autonomous rhythms unfurl like distant melodies lost out to sea. 

The three compositions fall somewhere between music and narrative, existing in the moment as a form of dark ambient sound poetry, created from electronic hardware and percussion, with a flicker of instrumentation and voice.

First performed live on the 9th November 2019 in the Town Chambers at Falmouth Art Gallery, Cornwall, and as part of an electronic ambient music event arranged by Cornish based label eel.disc (EEL 006).

Instruments: Volca Modular, Volca FM, Volca Sample, tuning forks, singing bowl, baroque tenor recorder, random percussion, looped and over dubbing live vocal.
