For the past 12 months, Lebanese artist and Fantôme de Nuit label founder Nesta has been a constant in the world music scene. Either via his own parties, guest performances around the globe, or his productions littering the finest labels, Nesta has covered a lot of ground. Nesta has of course been a driving force in the Middle East and Europe for much longer than that, with his label running for more than a decade now.

As well as his label, Nesta has also been responsible for throwing some of the finest parties around and for our next InSession edition we find Nesta in charge of the decks at his most recent party. Taking place at Berlin’s Hoppetosse, Nabih has hooked up with close friends of Trommel Melina and Jakob Seidensticker and their We R The Aliens label for a joint trip. In true Nesat fashion, he starts deep and shifts through the gears with ease. Moving through deep house to techier moods, but the magic occurs when he circles back to drop those sweet vocally curve balls that nobody sees coming. A cosmically soulful adventure, if ever there was one, that is the appeal of a Nesta set.

Minimal Effort is a collection of live hardware jams recorded over three months in 2022 at Rotunda Compound.
The tracks were made with a compact setup of analog synthesizers, drum machines, and effects. Everything was sequenced and performed live in single takes, with no editing or rearranging afterwards, only some light EQ and limiting on the master to bring the level up.

The result is a raw and unpolished snapshot of the process: hardware-driven techno played live in the room, built on improvisation, repetition, and texture, with all the imperfections left intact.
