El resurgimiento por parte de ciertos labels managers por rescatar el género patrio, es una realidad. Este es el caso de Willem Voet y sus dos etiquetas Dark Distorted y la que hoy estrenamos Fenixfire Records. 

Haciendo elenco de productores de la zona de Bélgica, en este caso de Bocholt, regresa a la casa discográfica el dj y productor Jack Matthew Tyson. Con un track de puro electro old skool que nos recuerdan que existe mucho material por descubrir.

According to the Cambridge Dictionary, adventure is defined as “an unusual, exciting, and possibly dangerous activity, such as a trip or experience, or the excitement produced by such an activity”. And inspired by the thrill of his adventurous lifestyle, Poulper (SXDNS146/FREEDL028) finally makes his debut on Logia Records with “Aventura”, a six-track EP featuring three dark & misty originals – one in collaboration with Della – and three powerful remixes made with love by a true dream team of acclaimed artists: Mexican Tiempo De Maldad (SXDNS173/FREEDL008), Spanish Arkademode (RASTROLIVE007), and Argentinean Balam (SXDNS048).

Premiered here, the title track opens the EP with the stamina and attitude a dance floor-oriented cut needs to have. Atmospheric and trippy, “Aventura” fuses in its core some of the most distinct aspects of Poulper’s sonority: A synth bash combined with percussive elements galvanized with bonfires on the beach and mountain camping.

Jack Matthew Tyson has what it takes! This EP starts with a very pleasant electro track. What more to say than the lyrics, the sound, the groove,... everything about this song is "what it takes" to become a huge hit! As a second track you can discover "33.3 Y8%" which is an ode to the slowed down beats of the late eighties. Well- layered bassline and drums are mixed with a more acid-sounding aggression, and a brief explanation of DJs who changed music forever. Panic Room has a high energy drive, and JMT uses synthesizers and vocal samples in its sublime way to put it all together. But sometimes JMT can be very emotional. We Will Work It Out, Linda is about the struggles in life that matter. About living together with our beloved partner. And yet another masterpiece of an electro track! Technology in the Cold War: Sputnik was a highlight of the Eastern Bloc. Russian synthesizers were also pioneering new technology at that time. This number refers to both. The last track on this EP is Philantrope. Possibly the very best song on this EP. Full 8 minutes of synth craze, with little hints to the themes of the other tracks of this EP. And yes, the complete EP is groundbreaking again. FenixFire is always ahead!

Jack Matthew Tyson - Panic Room

DJ and producer Aleix Gimeno (@gimenomusic) is releasing an exciting debut album, 'MOVEMENT', for his most recent moniker and artist project Gimenö. Since receiving the DJMag award for Best Spanish Dance Music Production in 2003, the Spanish-born, Berlin-based DJ has released and performed as Leix. His seasoned experience and technique behind the decks make for a unique journey through sound and style, seeing him host numerous parties in leading clubs across Europe and perform at festivals like Off Sonar and ADE. Aleix also works as a mix and mastering engineer and label executive, starting his first label Novo Music in Spain in 2007, followed by Lowertones and Blueten Records, and his recording studio, Gimeno Studio, since moving to Berlin in 2015. These projects have allowed him to work with many international artists and labels to gain experience that he now condenses into his new project Gimenö.

Gimenö serves as a playing ground for Aleix to experiment and bring together the diverse influences acquired throughout his long-standing career. As the culmination of his work to date, "MOVEMENT" offers a unique dive into the forces that have shaped his music taste and style;

"'MOVEMENT' symbolises my musical evolution thanks to the cities and countries I have lived and have been influenced by their tendencies and cultures…a journey that shows my musical influences in all stages as a DJ and producer, going back to my musical origins (that few people know) until today."

Staying true to his signature underground sound, the release combines driving basslines, big beats and thumping drums, textured with a gritty, grungy attitude and juxtaposed against ethereal floating melodies and sharp percussion. The work plays with the idea of movement through modulation and polyrhythmic beats for the feeling of constant motion and a unique travelling experience through time and place.

The LP opens with the serene and melodic 'Ports', which gradually builds over pulsing synths and wet plucks, modulated and reversed for a gentle ebb and flow motion. The track's title defines the source of inspiration; "the video is recorded in the "Els Ports" natural park, 5 minutes from my house where I go up whenever I can to disconnect from the studio." Sonically, the track draws from the ambient sounds of nature, Boards Of Canada and Alexander Kowalski from the early 2000s. From the second track on, hard-hitting drums and bass drive the release and remind us of the genre in which we are operating; Aleix's beloved underground techno scene.

The LP will be released via the Spanish label TUTU Records (@tutulive), the label project led by DJ and producer Edgar de Ramon that seeks to promote techno music with style and personality. His aim is to provide an authentic way to discover innovative trends in the art and culture of underground music. 

Gimenö's "MOVEMENT" will release via TUTU on June 27th, 2022.

Italian modular live act Marco Cassanelli and Deckard return to T.a.Rock Records with a new mini-LP entitled ‘Splitted’.

Producers Marco Cassanelli and Beppe ‘Deckard’ Massara follow up their previous collaborations on the label, ‘Opus Sectile’ and ‘Pyramiden’ with an improvisational album titled ‘Splitted’. It is an amalgamation of sonic elements closely resembling their live performances and is the result of several studio sessions in Trani, Puglia. Additionally, the release is part of the lineup for “Programmazione Puglia Sounds 2022”, an initiative that supports and strengthens musical projects coming out of the world-renowned South Italian region.

Armed with analog and modular synthesisers, Marco Cassanelli and Deckard take you on an emotive journey inspired by geometry and symmetry used in all visual arts. Characterised by their dynamic compositions, the six tracks flow as one - incorporating components from one another, remixed according to the artist’s mood. From the imaginative dreamscapes of bonus track ‘Abandoned Town’ through to the playful synth lines of ‘Rectangle’, the release offers vibrant textures from start to finish. Its trippy, ambient atmospheres display the pair’s mastery of the instruments they wield and provides another outstanding release for the label.

Summer is over and the end of 2022 is rushing up to meet us. But we’re just getting started with Throne of Blood’s anniversary releases. Hot on the heels of EP 1 featuring Chloé, Joakim & Max Pask, Justin Cudmore, and Liona, we return with the second blitz of special material for EP 2.

Kicking things off is label fixture and A Love From Outer Space maestro Sean Johnston in his Hardway Bros guise with “The Other Side,” which was the very first song submitted for this series composed in the wake of Andrew Weatherall’s passing. Having been roadtested extensively in pandemic-era ALFOS EBS livestreams, it is finally available to all. 

Rounding things out are tracks from Hapa, a duo of NYC underground stalwarts, Takaya Nagase (Joy) and Eric Pecoraro aka Eric From America (Chomp Chomp Records),new wave acid punk Curses (Ombra International), and West Coast legends Split Secs,
