Well my friends this was the last show I did live for the BBC and I am very proud to have 13 Essential Mixes under my belt. It was very important for me to bring the BBC back to the best wee country in the world to where it all first began for me as a boy. Dam I think we took over the airways for 6 hours this last time? This was unprecedented, Radio 1 went all out to give me a huge send off. Much love to all my crew and the big wigs Matt Priest, Ian Parkinson, Hue, Emma, Ben,Tom & Charlotte ❤️
I know plenty of you lot flew over to N Ireland from around the world and what a turn up it was. This is a photo from the night of me and my brother. It means a lot - this photo- as this is the club my brother used to go as a kid, it was then called Kellys ⭐️it was a huge honour for me to play there and share this night with him and all of you. Plenty of bangers and jaws going mental the whole night. One to remember for sure.
I haven't listened to this show for a very long time as it was a very emotional time for me. Not only was it my last Radio 1 Live broadcast but I found out the next day that my dear friend and driver had decided to take his own life and didn't make the show. RIP The Captain We all miss you xxx 
I listened to this mix last week for the first time in all those years and dam I'm pretty proud of it, proud that I stepped outside the zone and took a huge chance musically. At times the crowd were not totally with me as I started out quite slower than they would normally hear from me but I knew that I was going to rip there face off if I could just keep them with me to the end and you didn't disappoint. Much respect and as always thank you for indulging me 🤠 I would love to hear your thoughts. What was going on in your head when you heard the music ? Were you surprised, Pissed off or were you excited for something different ? Or were you to twisted to know what day it was 😭

So here we go my first live broast with the BBC, I was asked were i would like to do it, Of course i had to say my home town Larne, to were it all started as a boy, This mix brings back a lot of memories, Also some that perhaps are better forgotten as we partied the night away in drains bay after this show we decided to steal some rowing boats and go for a wee scoot, It didn't end well and i will leave it at that but just to say i eventually made it home and sky tv were waiting for me to do the infamous video you have all seen of me driving around Belfast in a bus still have cut and then on to the met were we really let it rip..Oh and on to the Network :) ENJOY  x x x Your live on Radio 1 don't say fuck or buyer..

Fergie's First Live Show BBC Radio 1 @ Inver Park, Larne June 2002

Man when I see graffiti on walls it makes me laugh, it takes me back to when my amazing mum & dad agreed to a crazy idea that I had when I was a young whipper snapper. Me and my brother used to collect all the flyers from the raves and cover all the walls in our bedrooms including the door and the celling... everyone we grew up with used to decorate their room like this but me and my bro went over the top with the whole thing and we had no space on our walls for any more. My dad was about to start building me a dj booth for the arrival of my new technics and I also had stolen the big coca cola sign for the front of the booth. I washed many cars and mowed endless lawns for these turntables. Anyway I asked my folks.. if I take down all the flyers could I spray paint my room with some really cool graffiti art (holy fuck ART 😭) Every one used to come round my house. It was for sure the hang out spot in the neighbourhood and we would be smoking pot out the window and sneaking beer and mad dog 20/20 🤭 while listening to dj mixes and making our own record & pause mixes on the cassette player 😭 Anyway my folks let me get some paint and holy fuck me and my mates got to it, smoking and spraying the fuck out of the place but after a few minutes we had to get the hell out. I couldn’t even see any one stood beside me the cloud of smoke/paint was so thick. I for sure couldn’t stay in the room for days... the fumes was crazy- there was like 10 of us spraying. So when I stop to look at these graffitis I always think.. that’s how I wanted my wee room to look. You couldn’t smoke enough pot to make my bedroom look anything like this- it was pure carnage but my mum and dad went all out for me. They backed me from the word “GO” on the DJing. I remember the first songs I ever mixed. My big bro sat on the bed enduring my first painful attempts at mixing then BAM💥 there it was Hannah Jones - Young hearts run free (way out west heavenly vocal mix) INTO Hannah Jones- Young Hearts Run Free (Loveland’s Dub mix) HUGE TUNES. Here I am 27 years on down the line and I’m still practicing my mixing. Here is the newest one for ya some jams I’m feeling at the moment big love as always ❤️🎶💣
