Mixed field recording from the Central Highlands of Costa Rica.

The first six minutes were recorded during a May stay with my parents in the mountains of the Costa Rican central highlands. Right before dawn, an array of tropical bird sounds, rooster crows, and other lifeforms begin their morning wake up call. In this setting, the intensity of the sound persists for about 20 minutes and then tapers off towards tranquility.

The latter four minutes were captured next a brook underneath the rainforest canopy at Luguna Hule. If one listens closely, a drone can be heard faintly entering the scene in the backdrop of the birds, and bugs, and other sounds of the forest. I had initially thought this would pollute the recording, but I eventually landed on preferring the mixture of the organic and non-organic fields here.
