MOSS bio

MOSS has been around a whole lot longer than the name. The sound you can expect from MOSS is simply the slower, rolling techno, breaks and glitch music as always mixed progressively and dripping in the psychedelic that Aum Productions resident and owner `Ferksta’ has been doing (aside from his psytrance music) since he began playing a long long time ago. Preferring long engaging sets when everyone is in `that place’, MOSS is his salute to all things progressive and bass heavy. To all things dance music... when it's just the dj and you locked in a timeless grove. His salute to the indefinable... the glorious. The real moments that make the dance floor so special. MOSS sets have been played all over the world and now this sound has a name.

As for this mix, as always, raw, unmastered, one go and uploaded. In fact, I haven't even heard the mix yet as this is uploading! so good luck yeah. THIS IS NOT A CHILL SET. Buckle up. Just a few tunes from a few producers I love. A bit bouncy, a bit psychedelic, a bit squelchy, a bit samply and a lot meaty.

November 2019 saw the 20th anniversary of the infamous Velvet `the Night of Sumptuous Decadence'. Held at Flying Fish Studios in Ponsonby, it was a stunning night to remember. (Check the after video here: https://www.facebook.com/AUMproductionsNZ/videos/541874483029485/)

Philippa, a long standing and massively loved Velvet DJ lives in Berlin and couldn't make it to that show... So as a tribute to Velvet and the times we shared, Philippa very kindly made this exclusive mix, just for us. 
Little did everyone know at that point that we had booked her for AUM Festival later that year, where she wooed a crowd in excess of 1500 people on our White Stag stage... so all was well.

In moments when I lose myself amidst the internal confusion. As we do from time to time.  I remember who is around me. Always. I know, that when i open my eyes again you will be there by my side. All of you. With all of your faces. With your honest love.

Slow deep dark rolling underground  progressive psychedelic  techno, house and trance.  

Personally speaking unless you have 2 hours to commit and a stereo r headphones up to the job , i wouldn't think this is the mix for you. 
Suffice to say, I thought of ALL of you during this freestyle.

*oh and yeah... it's 2 hours long to represent the quadruple timeline of a 30 in white out. You either know what i mean, or you will...

Beginning on 25 March, the Alert Level was moved to Level 4, putting New Zealand into a nationwide lockdown.
It was a confusing, scary time.

Ferksta (AUM)
Bio: Fat, chunky, Deep, emotive, progressive mixing with a psychedelic twist. In any given set you'll experience lush organic soundscapes and atmospheric journeys swirling around and through the driving basslines, generally played several a time because basically I'm greedy. Blind `that'll do' selecting and madman pancake layering define my tomfoolery behind the decks. I play for spliffs and dress like a rainbow whilst repeatedly asking people to touch my crushed velvet shorts. On the side of the leg silly! and consentually of course. No, seriously. I actually do. they're really nice to touch. Confused yet? Well if you plan on standing in front of the speakers when I play... buckle up princess. It's gonna get weird.

A recognisable figure in our local dance industry and playing music for over 300 years. I am clearly old. So old in fact that back in the day when you could travel internationally, I did. A lot. Played too. A lot. I could list all of the mega DJ names I have supported over the years, or list my achievemnts in the dance industry, but I'm not one of those names and bragging about my gigs when trying to get booked for other peoples gigs doesn't seem to work very well. Shine on!
