Shell Of Me

The Ferments is a United States Heavy Groove Punk band, formed in 2011, in Milpitas, a suburb of San Jose, California. Founded by current bassist Samantha Powell and former vocalist Ashley Urbanski . Having released a 3-track single,"Booty Girl"(March 2014), and a 5 track EP, "TIME'S UP!" (June, 2014). Incorporating Seductive stoner rock, styles of punk, and a noted "Groove" sense  with lyrical content focusing on natural human emotions, philosophy, and Ecological crisis awareness, the band adopted the term "Heavy-Groove punk". Being recognized locally for their mixed gender line-ups, eclectic sound, and dynamic live performances, the band has set up their own touring event the "WE'RE ALL GONNA DIE" World Tour (2014-20**).

Over the past years, the bands line-up has been changed numerous times; following the departure of Drummer Guadalupe Dominguez, Guitarist Vincent "Vito" DeHerrera, and Vocalists Ashley Urbanski and Demirae Moreno. Currently the Band Consists of Oscar "Stormy" Banda(Guitarist/Vocalists), Samantha Powell(Bassists/Vocalist), and Samantha "Shingles" Arestegui(Drummer); who replaced Dominguez after her withdraw.

In the spring of 2011, friends Samantha Powell and Ashley Urbanski came up with a plan to start a band. After recruiting friends Vito DeHerrera, and Guadalupe Dominguez the four then became Sin Vixens. After months of practicing in a small room of Powell's occupied house (also known as the Milpitas house venue 'The Peak'), Dominguez left the band to finish college. In the process of replacing their drummer, Powell pressed the idea of bringing in Stormy Banda (from the locally famous Stormy Banda and the Jerk-offs) as second guitarist. Shortly after the arrival of Banda, DeHerrera slowly maneuvered out of Sin Vixens to pursue his rockabilly band 'The Shop Rags'. After a band name change from 'Sin Vixens' to 'Hot Flesh', came the arrival of Samantha Arestegui. Urbanski gave the stage name "Shingles" to Arestegui after her fascinating story of how she caught shingles when she was fourteen.

Hot Flesh gave their first performance on February 18th, 2012 at The Peak. In June 2012, Demirae Moreno came to replace Urbanski after a mutual separation for her to continue her acting/modeling career as Shotzi Blackheart. Moreno's soulful voice added an arousing edge to the bands sound, thus influencing a name change to The Ferments. But, after 2 months of performing with the band, Moreno fell out. With Powell's and Arestegui's supportive vocal acts, Banda then took the initiative to sing lead vocals, giving the Ferments a strong male and female vocal collaboration. Currently, The Ferments are touring for their "WE'RE ALL GONNA DIE" world tour. Stay tuned on their media sites for an event coming near you!
