Two seasoned figures of the European electronic underground scene, Chrom label owner Pedro Mercado and uruguayan-catalan producer Fernando Lagreca, join forces again on Chrom to present “Cosmic Tide”: a two-track + remixes EP that draws from the emotional depth of melodic techno while flirting with the darker edges of indie-dance and the nocturnal pulse of dark disco. This release is the long awaited follow up of their massive EP on MUKKE from two years ago.
The title track, “Cosmic Tide” sets the tone with sweeping synth work, hypnotic arpeggios and a deep, rolling groove — evocative and celestial, yet anchored in club functionality. The journey continues with “Synchromised Circus” a more twisted and syncopated affair, where analog textures collide with broken rhythmic patterns, evoking an eerie circus-like atmosphere reimagined for the dancefloor.
On remix duties we have another 2 experienced artists: Andy de Gage' and Joe Fisher. Andy de Gage' from Germany is another Chrom key member. He delivers a driving progressive house rework of “Cosmic Tide”, injecting it with a tougher, late-night energy while maintaining its melodic core. And at last but not least we also have the pleasure to finally welcome Joe Fisher from Buenos Aires / Argentina to Chrom. Pedro Mercado and Joe Fisher go way back with Pedro appearing several times on Rezongar Music, the highly regarded label of Joe. Joe Fisher takes “Synchromised Circus” into deeper territory, blending modular basslines and spatial FX to create a hypnotic version that resonates with the more introspective corners of the techno continuum.
With Cosmic Tide, Chrom Recordings continues its steady push into hybrid electronic terrain, where melody meets muscle, and emotion is never an afterthought.

Ian, a Spanish-born London-based DJ, commenced his career in 1999, initially influenced by the techno rhythms of Berlin.
 
In 2006, he established Emphatic Records, which has since released artists such as Ben Sims, DJ Preach, Cristian Varela, d. Func, Jonas Kopp, Arnaud Le Texier, and numerous others.
 
Ian’s music has been released on labels including Sleaze Records, Children of Tomorrow, BEK Audio, TMM Records, and Black Codes Experiments.

After an impressive year plenty of sonic provocations, solid productions on such imprints as Awen, Natura Viva, Chrom or Sincopat, and once he recently left his significant role in shaping and performing techno and electronic music live in many venues such as Tanzhaus West (Frankfurt), Ritter Butzke (Berlin), RX (Istanbul), Razzmatazz (Barcelona), ClubNL (Netherlands), Laut (Barcelona), Plastic (Belgrade) or Fundbureau (Hamburg) – to name a few -, Fernando Lagreca is back with the announcement of his forthcoming album “Infamous” –relieving the highly acclaimed “Control” LP in 2014- on his own label, Beautiful Accident. 

The new full length will become, without a doubt, Lagreca’s most adventurous and fearless album in his entire career as a musician. Channelling this defiant approach, Lagreca’s new live set it shows his own brooding militancy and darkly stylish aesthetic. The concept sets a stage consisting of synthesizers, drum machines, samplers and efx processors that allow the artist to create intricate sequences on the fly, keeping the same freedom he uses to have at studio with only hardware gear, without the need of a laptop or computer, developing unique sounding palettes that go from techno to ambient, and from broken beats to modern urban harmonies, and back.
