“Palmaditas de Oro” is the result of a collaboration between a Spanish Viking with a background in award-winning rock music and a penchant for penning vicious ear-worm riffs (alias ‘E.L.Oh?”) and a rising star of the tech house world, DJ LOUISAHHH!!! , who has shared the bill with acts as prolific and diverse as Soulwax and Derrick Carter, DJ Hell and A-trak.  With their debut work together, the team ventures into uncharted sonic territory ruled by a haunted radio blasting Flamenco, a skipping record, a voice echoing down the dark back stairwell of a night club.  In this eerie, enchanting production, dance floors are presented with a unique, fresh sound from what is sure to become a technorganic tour de force.

Having both rocked remarkably long and prolific careers, the members of ZZT possess uncanny staying power in an industry where hype ends faster than it begins. Zombie Nation's production credentials are impeccable, and his reputation as a live performer has made him a permanent fixture on Europe's main stages. Meanwhile, Tiga's vocal hooks, sampling know-how-to, DJ sets and impressive work as a label boss have all kept him perched atop the electro-pyramid. These are two major players in the indie-dance world, but together, they are something else entirely.

ZZT first established themselves as Paradigm Wreckas back in 2007 with 'Lower State of Consciousness,' upping the ante on how 'crazy' a crazy club record needs to be. Dazed & Confused named it their 'Electronica Single of the Year,' while Rough Trade likened it to "hearing Da Funk for the first time… getting Justice to turn it inside out is a master stroke. Tune of the Year."

Granting no interviews, doing no remixes, and going so far as to phonetically transcribe the track's beats and bleeps as the only PR communication for the record ensured that it would live its life in the underground, gradually developing a cult of followers who eagerly awaited 2008's follow-up 'The Worm,' which Erol Alkan reworked to equally devastating effect. Flash-forward to 2010 and 'ZZAfrika' drops as the much-anticipated 100th release on Turbo Recordings, with a massive remix pack featuring Gesaffelstein, Afrojack, Julio Bashmore and more.

PARTYS OVER EARTH is relentless, uncompromising Combat Funk. If the new ZZT were a drug, it would be DZZMT. Not the stuff some loser shaman huffs behind the village gas station, but a new-school cut of Freebase Free-Bass that tears out your central nervous system and forces it to dance with the hottest elf you've ever seen.

Maelstrom could be mistaken for the newest kid on the scene, coming out of nowhere and dropping releases on prestigious labels like Dirtybird and BNR Trax in less than one year, but in reality he’s far from being a kid, as a matter of fact he’s more of a daddy. And I mean this more in a 'having a child' way than in a ‘I’m house music’s daddy and I’m gonna make her my bitch' way, except the latter is exactly what he’s about to do with his new “USSR” EP on Sound Pellegrino. Hailing from the quiet yet culturally effervescent city of Nantes, France, Maelstrom has been around for a while, operating in the shadow, DJing all around the world in various underground circles of no-joke techno and breaks. He also has a career as a more abstract UK bass producer under the name Joaan, crafting beautifully deep and haunting beats for 7even recordings. But the “USSR” EP is no deep and haunting business, this is a straightforward, raw and modern take on Miami bass and early electro with a techno twist made by a guy who’s experienced enough to have lived these scenes in their heyday. This is the music the Russian soldier girl in Elton John’s “Nikita” video likes to shake her booty to.

“USSR” is the more straightforward tracky beat of the bunch. Menacing and merciless like a musical machine gun execution, it also has a groove that says “hey chill this is just music, we ain’t killin anybody, now what are you waiting for, dance m*therf*cker!”, so at the end of the day, it’s all good. We at Sound Pellegrino are super proud to have obtained two brilliant remixes by two heroes of ours for “USSR”. First, The Hacker, whose impact on our lives as electronic music listeners is immeasurable. Whether it is through his classic albums with the goddess Miss Kittin where he defined the standard for dark electronic pop in the early 2000’s or his no-compromise electro material on the solo tip or in collaboration with this year’s big techno sensation (often seen as his protégé) Gesaffelstein, The Hacker always knows how to win our little techno hearts. He flips “USSR” into a serious deep Grenoble banger dripping with integrity and class. The second “USSR” remix is brilliantly executed by South African house music star Aero Manyelo. We’ve been in touch with Manyelo ever since he found out that we played one of his tracks on the Sound Pellegrino podcast. He immediately sent us a good portion of his huge catalog and we were blown away by his unique blend of house, finding influences in Kwaito riddims but also the trademark South African dark motor pitch shifting techno sounds. There’s no doubt his “USSR” remix, in all its originality and vicious efficiency, will be a dancefloor favorite.

Candidly titled “House Music”, the second track on the EP balances the darkness of “USSR” with a more light-hearted approach and a happier vibe. It also has a clear function for DJs: to serve as a transition from bass to four-to-the-floor house and vice-versa. Simple, functional, brilliant. DJ Dodger Stadium (Body High), Coni (Clek Clek Boom) and Boston Bun (known for his “Lean House” mixtape series) each deliver excellent remixes, Coni on a very deep, subaquatic, 9-minute long slow burner tip, Dodger Stadium in their trademark pumping gangster chicago underground construction 3.0 internetland hard house vibe and Boston Bun on a sexy sweaty macho backroom acid dance level.

Last but definitely not least, “Pool Chicks” is the gem of the EP. Like a steroid Sci-fi version of the purest old-school Miami Bass, channelling a pool party on mars hosted by cyborg 2 Live Crews and Tone Locs, “Pool Chicks” has 'early contender for summer hit' written all over it. When listening to those unidentified noises that punctuate the track, we’re still not sure if the title refers to girls at the pool or actual chicken being thrown in a swimming pool though.

After years of anticipation, Proxy at last presents his debut album, MUSIC FROM THE EASTBLOCK JUNGLES, to be released in two parts to showcase the prolific underground rave-czar's awe-inspiring body of work. Beloved by top DJs and stadium crowds the world over, the undisputed master of the "Turn It Up to 11" movement has created a work that harnesses the spirit of pure rave culture, with over 20 tracks that span and elevate countless genres without regard for trends or ephemeral influences.

MUSIC FROM THE EASTBLOCK JUNGLES is the product of an artist who forged a sound in complete isolation, with visa problems leading him to entrench himself in the middle of nowhere in his native Russia, continuing in the UK rave tradition of his Essex-spawned idols, The Prodigy. Years in the making, it features a massive stockpile of new material, as well as Proxy classics both renowned ("Raven") and unreleased ("Abyss").

PT.1 opens the siege with flag-bearing marches ("Raja Ganja"), imperial air-raid bangers ("Raw"), and unhinged breakbeat madness ("Junk"), Meanwhile, PT. 2 forces an unconditional surrender with a mix of acid ("Audio 15"), ambient ("Nanomed"), Eastern-flavored pop ("Coke"), and hip-hop inflected head-nodders ("9000"). 1) FPU - Crockett's Theme / Seven Of Nine:

already a decade old, but these tracks still have not really been bettered when it comes to the 80's electro-techno revival of the early 00s. At the time, i was so in love with them, and they really helped Turbo grow at a critical time. Peter Benisch was a thoughtful, talented producer, and i loved all his music.

2) Martini Bros - The Biggest Fan (Blackstrobe Remix)

i remember this being one of my favorites, and a record that really marked Turbo "coming out" internationally. The original was amazing, but Blackstrobe just nailed a remix that perfectly summed up the feelings and the mood of the time. Fun, playful, vocal..... and got Ivan Smagghe on our label!!! A definitive Turbo record.

3) ZZT - Lower State of Consciousness

i tried to avoid my own records, but the fact is that this is just a ridiculously dope record: genuinely weird, undeniably powerful, and not easy to duplicate (i know, ive tried). I also like records that capture a new feeling or a new relationship, and this was the SOUND of me and Zombie Nation getting in studio for the first time. I think its one of the best we have released. yes, i am biased.

4) Panash - Jack 2 Jack (Jesper Dahlback Remix)

this is a classic Turbo formula: find an old record that you felt was underated from your personal collection, aquire the rights, and get a master like Dahlback to remix it to perfection. The early years of Turbo would never have been the same without Jesper, and this was one of the first tracks that got us global cred.

5) Moby - I Like To Move In Here (Proxy Remix)

first off, having a big international name like Moby on the label felt legit, but thats not why i chose this. I picked it cuz for many years Proxy was THE go-to guy for total nu-jack-rave mastery. Yes, "Raven" was bigger, but i always felt this remix was incredible, with a deep and unique understanding of techno-funk. still sick. always dope. he still has never been beat.

6) Clouds - Consciousness

of the techno renaissance era tracks of the past few years, this one stands out for two reasons: first, because its a truly special techno anthem, and i think arguably the best techno record we ever released. second, because it marked a continued commitment to an artist and their development: Clouds were my fave from day one, but they just got better and better, and worked closely with me and my brother......and that feels like REAL label progress.
