Following the release of their ‘Alkadian’ EP earlier this year, Hysteria Temple Foundation return with their fifth self-release ‘Atlante’. This time the faceless duo enlist contributions from Ilian Tape affiliate Stenny and Mirror Zone label founder Spekki Webu.

With their signature style existing at the intersection of techno, dub and trance, ‘Atlante’ is no different, where they continue their introspective experiments leaning on their percussive, psychedelic soundscapes. Collaborating with Spekki Webu on ‘Oceanographic’ for a spacey junglist workout whilst Stenny provides a skittering remix of ‘Submarine Drift’.

"I wanted to make a mix that could be listened to at home, but that at the same time reflects part of what my DJing is today. That's why I decided to record it with an Allen & Heath Xone:92 mixer and three CDJs and inject my approach and technique, I guess. I thought about the tracklist for almost two months, trying to make it a document that can be listened today, but hopefully also revisited as time goes by."

Following the release of Faulter’s Obstinacy earlier this year, we’ve turned two long-standing CF regulars and welcome two newcomers to provide their takes on the label co-founder’s debut club collection.

As with the original, the remix EP unfolds in 2 halves: a pair of minimal-rooted 4-to-the-floor club tools, followed by a heady ‘B-side’ steeped in techno and IDM.

Label mainstay Syz kicks things off with a bouncy rendering of the title track in signature production style with his ‘Space Carnival Mix’, while the elusive B. McQueen dives into Zaf, providing a skippy, rolling tech-house backbone that brings the dubby elements of the original track into full club mode.

On the flip, it’s a genuine pinch-me moment at CFHQ to feature one of our all-time favourites, Forest Drive West, transforming Perspectives into an unforgettable slo-mo chug-dub-techno trip full of the intensity only he can deliver. Rounding off, our best-loved Bristolian Yushh leans into the 90bpm range with her Swamp-pusher remix, a twisted headfuck of a beat (good luck dancing to this one), reminiscent of early Squarepusher productions.

"This mix focuses on tracks or styles that influenced me during the making of the album. It's not bangers, but it's not calm either — think dark, heady beats filling up a small Room 2, slowly climbing up the BPM. I can't live with myself if something is pure nostalgia, however, so I've thrown in a few new/unreleased demos I've listened to recently."
