This poem was inspired by my trip to Thailand and this gorgeous guy I met who i'll call "Mooncake".
He taught me so much about myself and about Body Image which helped me to feel even more free around food and the experience of sharing food, textures, flavours and culture. I have a fit and able body and I want to use it in every way I can whilst living my best life, thank you for the reminder. Thank you for showing me love is more than 2 bodies who have sex, more than a romantic relationship and deeper than aesthetics. Even though you are beautiful, it's not who you are.

Nicola has a PhD in computational biology Image courtesy of Michelle Bailey from MIT. After graduating she worked for a biotechnology company while pursuing her dreams of a family, which were thwarted by a diagnosis of hypothalamic amenorrhea (no periods). Eighteen months of trying to conceive followed. She spent hours on research, using the knowledge gained to work on recovery. Concurrently, she tried the medical route to pregnancy, with multiple doctor visits, injections, and ultrasounds resulting only in failure. Ultimately, she was able to achieve a natural pregnancy. Since that time, Nicola has shared her knowledge of the path to recovery, helping hundreds of others achieve their dreams of womanhood and pregnancy. She has spent the last three years as a stay-at-home mom, with her three boys, Antony, Timmy, and Cameron, while writing this comprehensive guide to recovery.

Episode 27 Chris Tuck S.O.B.

Today as I mourn the loss of my friend, my old negative Body Image issues arise. I feel fat, ugly, swollen, bloated...when really inside i just feel sad. 
My old coping mechanism  popped up and as I internalized my emotions to feel like there was an issue with my body, I realized I am actually just sad. So today as I allow myself to feel. I also felt like I had lots to say on the topic of intuitive Exercise. 
As a fitness instructor, I love exercise and I love promoting it to people. I know all the benefits to exercise and I want to help people to make healthy choices. 
I am also aware that exercise has become a dangerous place for many who have shared my disorders with food and body image and the use of exercise can be damaging. I felt torn between the Body Positive community and the Fitness world for this reason. 
I feel like I have found a happy medium for myself and I am not leaving fitness, not for me and not for my career. Where I am is exactly where I need to be! I don't exercise to change my body I exercise to feel alive. If you are lucky enough to be alive, fit and healthy and able bodied, then use it.
I am a voice of change and I am a leader in Health & Fitness and I will not change who I am to fit a Body Positive mold.
I can be both a Body Positive advocate and a Fitness professional.

Many of you know now that I want to focus on other topics than Body Positivity, I believe that our Body Image is secondary to what’s really going on in life, and therefore when times are tough or an emotion unexpected, we often go back to old coping mechanisms which are, I feel fat etc, maybe I should diet etc.. maybe I should do more exercise because whilst we are thinking and feeling these things we are not feeling emotions. Emotions like, pain, grief, worry, fear.. 
Today I speak to Alison Hollingworth from Feel the fear and do it anyway. Which is a book written by Susan Jeffers. Susan is no longer with us but there are many still supporting her work and running their own workshops which promote the messages within the book. Alison is one of those practitioners and today we find out why we have fear, what we can do about it and some tools for getting out of our comfort zone.

Meditation is generally considered a safe activity, it is mainly a practice in deep stillness, breathing and presence. We meditate when we zone out of consciousness, even when going from A-B without conscious thought. This is much like a state of Trance. 
This meditation is a practise to help you find more peace and clarity and with regular Practise you may find you are able to deepen and make more purposeful your meditation practises.
