Belgian-Caribbean provocateur Charlotte Adigéry and her long-term musical partner, Bolis Pupul release their phenomenal debut album Topical Dancer via Soulwax’s iconic label DEEWEE.
 
Cultural appropriation and racism. Social media vanity. Post-colonialism and political correctness. These are not talking points that you’d ordinarily hear on the dancefloor but Charlotte and Bolis have ripped up the rulebook with their debut record. Nathan Micay fell asleep in the schnee and awoke in the shvitz. Side A’s 'Never Rhythm Game' is a bubbling cauldron of acid worms, almost seven steady minutes of liquid squelch and bleep that rolls over an assortment of boom-boom kicks and claps, all glued together by droning strings and soaring feedback modulation. Aimed for peak time, this big-room monster builds on a major chord and carries us to that perfect rave apex, functioning as a pivot from where the witty DJ might steer into any subsequent direction. Side B’s 'Team Player' is equally poignant, yet to contrast its optimistic predecessor, Nathan constructs a dark mechanical narrative that summons influence from a distant sci-fi metropolis — sophisticated metallic rhythms that sound less polished as they do scrubbed with steel wool — lead by a seductive robot who chants degenerate dancing instructions. Following The Knife’s 20th anniversary and recent remix of Emmanuel Jal’s ‘Ti Chuong’, Swedish musician Olof Dreijer is set to release a remix of Röyksopp & Robyn’s ‘Monument’ via Röyksopp’s Dog Triumph imprint. This is the first time Olof has worked with the duo, having previously worked with Robyn across projects on Konichiwa Records. For the rework, Olof brings his signature warm and percussive sound to the chart-topping single. The track is accompanied by a visualizer from Martin Falck who has previously collaborated with The Knife, Björk, Fever Ray and Robyn. 

Originally released in 2014 via their mini-album ‘Do It Again’, the release was accompanied by a joint tour across Europe and America. Receiving critical acclaim, ‘Do It Again’ reached no. 20 in the UK charts and number 1 album in Billboard’s Dance/Electronic Albums chart, marking Röyksopp and Robyn’s first. 

Olof has also remixed the likes of Nine Inch Nails, Fever Ray, Mari Boine, Emmanuel Jal and Mehdi Bahmad and recently produced and remixed fellow Swedish artist Zhala’s latest single ‘Holes’ on Konichiwa Records. 

Olof is most known for his work as one half of the electronic pop duo The Knife formed with his sibling Karin Dreijer. The band celebrated their 20th anniversary in 2020 with reissues, remixes and special live performances.
