Fatima Zahra Hassan is a visual artist and educator specialising in Mughal and Persian miniatures.
Dr Michael Munnik is Lecturer at Cardiff University, working with the Centre for the Study of Islam in the UK.

Aafaq Butt is a regional representative for TellMAMA a charity which works to report on hate crimes. He is also a trade unionist and Labour Party activist with a specific interest in political engagement and trends in voting for particular parties given ethnicity and religion.

Fatima Zahra Hassan is a visual artist, educator and a researcher, trained in visual Islamic and traditional arts. She specialises in Middle Eastern and South Asian manuscript illustration (Indian, Mughal and Persian miniature painting). Zahra studied Sacred Geometry/Islamic Patterns under Prof Keith Critchlow and Paul Marchant at Royal College of Art, and then studied at The Prince's School of Traditional Arts in London.

Dr Michael Munnik is Lecturer in Social Science Theories and Methods at Cardiff University, working with the Centre for the Study of Islam in the UK. His research examines Muslim participation in the news media in Britain. He completed his doctorate at the University of Edinburgh, supported by the Alwaleed Centre for the Study of Islam in the Contemporary World. In his thesis, he studied relationships between mainstream journalists and sources who identify as Muslim in Glasgow, Scotland. Journalism is a subject he knows well: he did his first degree in journalism at Carleton University in Canada, and he worked for eight years in radio with the Canadian Broadcasting Corporation in Ottawa before coming to the UK for postgraduate study.

Sabiya Khan is Chair of British Muslim Women Forum.
Bana Gora is CEO of the Muslim Women’s Council, Bradford.
Shemiza Rashid is a Presenter, Producer, all round Creative and Asian Woman of Achievement Winner.

Kaneez Akthar has worked in the charitable sector for over 25 years holding variety of positions within the social housing sector. She is involved in local politics and has served as a district councillor for 4 years and since 2015 is a Keighley Town Councillor.

Sabiya Khan is Chair of British Muslim Women Forum which supports local and international charities to empower young women to develop leadership skills to enhance their personal and professional development. Sabiya is also a UK ambassador for Behbud a women empowerment organization based in Rawalpindi Pakistan.

Bana Gora is CEO and a founding member of the Muslim Women’s Council, Bradford. She has been actively involved in voluntary work for 20 years, and worked at the Joseph Rowntree Foundation in the Policy and Research department where she lead on a ten year programme to expand and influence a range of social policy issues relating to the area.

Shemiza Rashid is a Presenter, Producer, all round Creative and Asian Woman of Achievement Winner. She presents 'The Urban Kube Show' on InspireFM in Luton which celebrates faith inspired creativity and positive action.  She also presents the lifestyle magazine show 'Living the Life’ on The Islam Channel. Shemiza won the prestigious Asian Woman of Achievement awards in 2014 for Public Service and helped to break a Guinness book world record on world book day reading to the most number of children in one sitting.
Shemiza is presently working on her first short film 'Ink'  to be released in 2018 and gained a positive response for a theatre piece ‘A Bag Full of Brexit’.   
She is described as 'a mini media power house’ by Sisters Magazine and 'A bright voice in dark times' by the Huffington Post. She is an active mother of 6 children.

Dr Carl Morris is a Lecturer in Religion, Culture and Society at the University of Central Lancashire. 

Dr Stephen Jones is a Research Fellow and Sociologist of Religion based at Newman University, Birmingham.

Dr Seán McLoughlin is a Senior Lecturer in Contemporary Muslim Cultures, Politics & Societies at University of Leeds.

Dr Carl Morris is a sociologist of religion and a Lecturer in Religion, Culture and Society at the University of Central Lancashire. He completed his doctorate at Cardiff University in 2013 and has previously taught at both the University of Leeds and Leeds Trinity University. His research focuses on Muslims in Britain, with a particular emphasis on popular culture and music. His recent publications have looked at Sufism, spirituality, popular Muslim musicians in Britain (e.g., Sami Yusuf, Poetic Pilgrimage etc) and the developing nasheed industry in the UK. He has just started a new research project looking at other elements of popular culture for Muslims in Britain, including film, television and comedy. He is the outgoing General Secretary for the Muslims in Britain Research Network which he served from 2014 to 17.

Dr Stephen Jones is a sociologist of religion based at Newman University, Birmingham, whose main specialism is Muslims and Islam in Britain. His publications cover religion and higher education; the political representation of Muslim minorities; the sociology of religious knowledge; multiculturalism in Britain; and the preventing extremism policy. He is currently carrying out research for a large-scale research project looking at how people understand the relationship between science and religion. Stephen is the incoming General Secretary of the Muslims in Britain Research Network. 

Dr Sean McLoughlin studied religion, Islam and social anthropology at Manchester and has taught at the University of Leeds since 2000. His research focuses on Muslim diasporas, especially British Asian communities in northern England. Sean has published more than 50 outputs on a wide range of topics including Muslims organisations and the UK state, Islamic movements and mosques, Muslim schools, gender, youth, cities and the Hajj pilgrimage. He has co-edited three books, and has given more than 30 invited presentations in the US and across Europe. Sean was Chair of the Muslims in Britain Research Network between 2011 and 14 and has been a member since 1994.

Nadeem Murtuja is Chair of Just Yorkshire, an organisation which promotes racial justice, human rights and equality.
