Growing up in the deep south of Germany with multi ethnic friends and big interest in many different music genres of the world, Borrowed Identity built his wide knowledge in music. This variety in his musical taste is also the reason why he is working under different aliases producing a big variety of sound from ambient to house to experimental music and everything inbetween. Borrowed Identity debut EP on Quintessentials is another great example for his multistyle approach to music. You’ll find elements of house, disco, techno, ambient and more – always with an imminent love for music. Borrowed Identity released his first 12” inc. a Mark E remix on Foul&Sunk last year. That was just the start of an impressive career we dare to say. Borrowed Identity is a music freak and works very fast on tracks. Guy Gerber's Supplement Facts, Traveller Records (Finland), the Legendary Sound Research, Stripped & Chewed (Chicago), Catz N Dogz Pets Recordings and soon Mistress all released some splendid Borrowed Identity tunes. Joluca is back in collaboration with Thomas Garcia with another dancefloor killer, this time with a remix from the Darmstadt resident Phonk D.

On Joluca's own words: " This song came out of my very first session with Thomas. Near the end of the session, after working on a couple of tracks, we were talking about edits and samples and he showed me what was to become the main sample for this song. I was immediately drawn to it (as Thomas had been) and, despite feeling a little burnt out from having already worked for a few hours, we decided to throw it in and see what we could come up with. Right away we came up with the main loop and began to chop it up like maniacs. Magically (I think it was Thomas) wrote probably the best bassline we've ever had in a track. Fast forward to Dave getting hooked on the song and refining all the crazy ideas we had into something you could actually listen to and play out — one of our favorite tracks we've ever made".
